@reformexposed@EFReform@McivorJaymey The attempt to portray him as “racist”. He hasn’t got a racist bone in his body. He loves all ethnic groups. Always has done. So the implication of him being racist is defamatory. Thats why.
You think you’re winning by shaming everyone don’t you?
@PeanutTilly@reformexposed I did read your post and I noted its implication. I think you ought to dwell on how this photo came to light and how it was deliberately presented to defame and besmirch him.
Let’s let Geoff focus on doing his job as opposed to dealing with cheap defamation shots online.
@PeanutTilly@reformexposed He was at a private 40th fancy dress party 10 years ago, dressed as Bob Marley - the photo was on his private Facebook archive - precisely which part of the Code of Conduct does he need to familiarise himself with?
@reformexposed@EFReform@McivorJaymey This is classic example of the kind of blatant defamation tactics that “politics” has been reduced to these days, and people are sick of it.
@reformexposed@EFReform@McivorJaymey Actually context does matter. It was a fancy dress party where everyone dressed up as a famous musician. Some of the outfits were outrageous. It was worn in jest and everyone at the party saw it that way.
Furthermore his Facebook profile is most certainly not public.
@MelanieLatest …you wrote an article in The Times yesterday about compulsory national service in the UK. Bizarrely (but predictably) you failed to mentioned the elephant in the room. The ideology of Feminism has created a society where either we are all forced to fight, or no one will fight.
@OwenJones84 Other causes include - a decade of QE has almost certainly had an impact (more money chasing the same amount of goods). And a exogenous cost shock - ie the war with Ukraine leading to gas prices surging.
@OwenJones84 I studied economics at a leading global university. It was a while ago but my understanding, and I may be wrong, is that inflation expectations lead to a ever increasing ‘wage / price spiral’. It’s called the Expectations Augmented Philips Curve. Take a look.
@caitlinmoran It is incredibly reductive, and incredibly insulting to men to say we can only choose between “Jocks, Nerds, or Patriachs”. All of which are really rubbish choices. Tone down the blatant misandry please (try to imagine phrasing a question about women like this…)
@JMPSimor@tomhfh The rampant NIMBYism of local counsellors, and local residents who fight tooth-and-nail even the most minor planning application, launching campaigns to stop any development occurring in their neighbourhoods. Holding up developments for years.
@JMPSimor@tomhfh …examples include: 1) planning conditions slapped on planning permissions by local authorities, 2) the extra reports required to actually file a successful planning application (bat surveys, ecological surveys, flood risk etc etc); 3) expansion of building regulations….
@tomhfh How depressing. Why do people think vandalising an iconic old building is acceptable? This will have to be repaired at great expense to the taxpayer now. They should vent frustration is legal democratic ways.
@SumitSSandal@Miss_Snuffy@carolinevflee1 Clearly all kids are different, and we need to be sensitive to the needs of some children (diagnosis and SEN are key) but that doesn’t mean that discipline in schools is wrong. Chapter 5 of Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules For Life is an excellent summary of the issue.
@stephenpollard@Miss_Snuffy I’m an experienced father of two spirited young boys (who I love to bits), and in my opinion (from a lot of experienced parenting), this lady is spot on with her discipline. Keep up the good work!
@Miss_Snuffy Just read your interview in The Times Magazine. I’m a father of two ‘spirited’ boys (5 and 8) whom I love dearly - I couldn’t agree more with your teaching methods. Thank you for everything you’re doing to promote discipline in our schools. Keep up the good work!
@Baddiel This sounds like a very interesting topic, I’ll definitely be watching this! Thanks David. I’ve always thought part of the solution to online hate is to create unique IDs that all users of social media have to use - so there can be no more anonymity online…
