So it is of no surprise to me that IIJNM did not get enough admissions to continue its course. These institutions are digging their own grave. It is not possible for most students to pay 3-7 lakhs for a PG Diploma to land a job that barely pays your bills!!

Most prominent media houses hire students with a college degree in journalism. More often that not they have tie ups with certain elite colleges that charge exorbitantly. I'm talking atleast 3-7 lakhs. (Excluding Jamia). Having a good laptop and phone is a no brainer.

Why is the media space, even the alternative ones, dominated by upper castes and the rich?

It starts with the education.
