He commended the personnel for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s maritime interests and lauded the sacrifices and steadfast support of their families.

He highlighted the Indian Navy’s growing maritime prowess, recalling its valour during the 1971 War, including Operation Trident, and its transformation into a modern, indigenous force. RM said India must advance “from the seas towards prosperity and power”, with the oceans serving as an avenue for national development, strategic strength and prosperity.

Exercise #MountainGuardian 2026

The Opening Ceremony of the 3rd edition of Joint Military Exercise #MountainGuardian 2026 between the #IndianArmy and #UAE Land Forces was held today at the Foreign Training Node, Chaubatia, Uttarakhand.

The two-week exercise scheduled to be held from 05 to 18 Oct 2026, will focus on joint planning, tactical drills, handling of equipment and integrated field exercises leveraging modern technology.

The exercise will further strengthen interoperability between the two Armies in sub-conventional operations and reinforce the growing India-UAE defence partnership.

During the visit, the Air Marshal was briefed on the operational environment and preparedness along the Western Front. The interaction reinforced the Inter Services synergy, integrated planning and a joint warfighting approach to effectively counter contemporary operational challenges.

The #CorpsCommander was briefed on the prevailing security environment, counter-infiltration measures, surveillance architecture and ongoing initiatives to further enhance operational effectiveness. Commending the troops for their unwavering commitment and operational excellence, the #GOC impressed upon all ranks to maintain highest standards of Vigilance, readiness and responsiveness.

Participants of the Defence Correspondents Course-2026 visited a forward Air Base in the Eastern Air Command AOR from 28 Sep to 01 Oct 26, for an orientation on Indian Air Force operations and capabilities.

The IAF Officers delivered lectures on the Service’s history, administration and logistics, highlighting the systems that sustain operational readiness. The correspondents visited helicopter and Fighter Squadrons, the advanced simulator complex, surveillance units, and the Air Traffic Control centre, where they received briefings on their respective roles. Garud commandos outlined their training and operational responsibilities. The visit concluded with a demonstration of night flying by helicopters and fighter aircraft.

The programme gave participants an understanding of the professionalism, coordination and capabilities underpinning air operations.
