Signing off.
@circuslollipop Fonda Lee's Jade City is absolutely great. Magic-powered kung-fu gangsters battling for control of Not!Hong-Kong.
Alternately, Curtis Craddock's An Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors-- swashbuckling and airships and entertainingly weird magic.
Probably for the best that I don't collect Joes, as I'd have no place to put all this stuff.
If they'd brought home a box full of Transformers, on the other hand ...
So my cousin's husband brought home a big box of his childhood GI Joes, at which point I got to help them sort 'em out. So that's fun. There were a bunch more vehicles in there, to boot, including some still-boxed stuff, as well as an APC in pretty good condition.
@AustinGorton Sleepwalker! Written by Bob Budiansky, who also wrote literal hundreds of character profiles for the Transformers toyline, more or less creating a whole-ass canon from scratch.
