A message to @NazliDizman:
Today you will graduate from your #oncology fellowship at @UTMDAnderson. The picture below is from the 2016 @myESMO meeting in Copenhagen just after you started with my group at @cityofhope. You were my first postdoctoral fellow, and honestly, I didn't know what the heck I was doing when it came to mentoring you. The fortunate thing is you were a self starter & made my job incredibly easy, paving a clear path not just for yourself but for the trainees that came after. It's been a joy to see all that you have accomplished - publishing in @NatureMedicine, @TheLancetOncol, @JCO_ASCO & other top tier journals, getting amazing young investigator grants from @ASCO, @KidneyCancer & more & racking up more @ConquerCancerFd Merit Awards than any other trainee in recent memory (maybe tied with @crisbergerot?). Along the way, you've kept a humility & kindness about you that is unmatched, always willing to lend a hand to your junior colleagues. Your road has not been an easy one, coming from tumultuous times abroad to @cityofhope, then to @YaleIMed and then to @UTMDAnderson, but this arduous road has equipped you well for your first faculty position at @DanaFarber. I am so proud to see you join a group of oncology luminaries at @Harvard (@DrChoueiri, @KimmieNgMD, @stolaney1, @mishabeltran & so many others!!) - I am confident your stellar trajectory will continue further with their support. Enjoy Boston and know that you will always have support & good vibes coming from the west coast.
All the best,
#WorkDad
It is the year 2026, computing technologies are so advanced and ubiquitous that they use most of the power we generate and farming land we need, and yet @Microsoft@Office Word cannot cope if you select and try to open more than one file at a time.
@DongNguyeb@EUplatinum You are correct. The overall point I was trying to make though was that the non-inferiority margin was very generous and the trial was always going to meet that endpoint. But I’m grateful you took the opportunity to showcase your own wisdom on this point.
I am honoured to have been asked by @EUplatinum to provide a "Words of Wisdom" contribution (the irony does not escape me), about the PATCH trial of transdermal estrogen for #ProstateCancer

@ASCO Well, look what arrived all in a batch today, 18 June 2026, more than two weeks after #ASCO26 finished. And with dates stamped on the envelope for 10 June and 12 June, sent via the Czech Republic.
@ASCO you are wasting (our) money and you need to fire your supplier.
Hi @ASCO - is it likely I will get my #ASCO26 badge in the mail before next Tuesday? Why doesn’t it get sent earlier, especially for international delegates?
@ASCO Thanks. This happens pretty much every year though, and it’s usually waiting for me when I return to work after the meeting. I could understand it happening once but this is clearly a systemic issue.
Fun fact: if toothpaste, even so tiny a piece that it cannot be seen, flicks off one bristle and lands in your eye, it stings like anything.
How’s your day going?
