'Game changing' home smear tests to be launched in London with @CancerPrev_KCL @PHE_uk
#YouScreen
The study targets those aged 25-64 who are at least six months overdue cervical screening.

Very exciting to see this #HPV self-collection home-testing kits trial being rolled out across London. Let's hope the data is as good as we hope; it could be a significant step against #cervicalcancer

My thoughts on self-collection: https://t.co/Sy6Woecp9U
@JoTrust@CancerNel Great news. A really exciting trial and such an important step for equity for those reluctant or unable to get to a GP or clinic.
Well done @JoTrust for all your work on this and support and information to those who need it. #HPV#cervicalcancer
Very exciting about the self-collection trial for #HPV being rolled out to 31,000 women in London. Early detection of #cervicalcancer is key: 95% of early precancerous changes are curable. Such an important trial.
I wrote about this recently: https://t.co/Sy6Woecp9U
Great to see such things. Look how far we have come that a building in London shows support for the fight against #CervicalCancer. We have come so far. There's a lot further to go but elimination *is now possible*. We have the strategy. Let's do it. @DHSCgovuk@gavi@WHO@JoTrust
Inspired by the voices in the @WHO launch advocating for education to help eliminate #CervicalCancer. There is a vaccine to prevent HPV. Education - of men as well as women and girls - is vital. "The fate and future of all is bright when the fate and future of women is bright".
The WHO's launch of the Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer is being livestreamed now. Encouraged to watch it.

Robust and inclusive screening programmes, combined with resilient supplies and ways of delivering the HPV vaccine, can eliminate cervical cancer. GAVI, governments, and the pharmaceutical industry must not forget the importance of HPV vaccination.
What’s the difference between an #HPV test, a Pap test, and an HPV/Pap cotest? Our Q&A on #CervicalCancer screening guidelines explains: https://t.co/c5hzHTt4j6
If everyone who is grateful for NHS staff right now followed and retweeted, we would reach a million by midnight.
It will take just two seconds to do, and you can help us share important information that could help save lives.
@LizSpecht There is one critical false assumption here. Rates won’t keep doubling as people start to stay home and government locks down public gatherings. We’ve already seen this in China and Italy. This post is simple scaremongering
The drop in #HPV vaccination rates around the world is disturbing and tragic, and we must figure out a way to better counter the misinformation and falsehoods being spread every day. Thank you for being in this fight with us @drg1985

This new test which is still 3-5 yrs away should help encourage more women who might be anxious about having a smear to be tested. It's only a screening test though so women with +ve tests will still need further examinations and possibly treatment. Overall a great step forward.
🗣Don’t squirm. Don’t blush. It’s important to learn and talk about these things!
On this week’s episode, #youmebigc are talking all things gynae cancer in the company of NHS doctor @GynaeGeek, comedian @karen_hobbs and @eveappeal's CEO
