@karismatically It makes sense to me that one needs to be knowledgeable and trained well to do something right. But I also think theories need to be specified and communicated well enough that idiosyncratic knowledge isn’t required to apply them effectively.
@davidhughes_phd I swear I’ve gotten *less* review requests than before, during this period of strife over finding reviewers. It doesn’t make sense to me.

@profsamperry Absolutely. Multiple times, to the point of it almost entirely accounting for my career path. And years ago, during the process of eventually getting one offer, I was questioned about why I *hadn’t* attended a conference one year.

Any guesses on where Stephen received that honorary doctorate?

#SPSP2023 was great! It was fun connecting with @KnoxCollege1837 and @NorthwesternU friends. I really appreciated meeting old twitter/zoom friends IRL and new faculty/grads/post doc friends. Also I have to give a special shout-out to #BLASPR for such an inspiring event ✊🏾.
ANYWAY(!) I’d like to draw your attention to this paper I and my students at Knox College @KnoxCollege1837 published and that recently came out in print at Journal of Experimental Psychology:Applied @APA_Journals

Some of this new work, done with my student Hala Halabi and stats-guru collaborator Dr. Sam (Charles) Robinson, was supported by a small grant from @SPSPnews and will be presented at the upcoming annual conference:
In the meantime, my lab group has moved forward to test ways to invoke a “misfit” perception to prevent that identity, with more robust/longer-term manipulations and assessments.
I’ve thought of this paper by @robertjwest and @SusanMichie a lot since reading it. PER WEEK, 106 new health behavior intervention papers are published, and it would take 68 people working full time to extract all of the relevant info from them.
📣New paper!
"How many papers are published each week reporting on trials of interventions involving behavioural aspects of health?" - by @robertjwest & @SusanMichie | Qeios

@marcmorehouse @jondmiller@jondmiller You could do no wrong by starting with Europe ‘72 (I just finished listening to a Dead podcast season about this tour, so my attention is all wrapped in it).
