लोक सभा में नेता प्रतिपक्ष श्री @RahulGandhi और मैंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी को संयुक्त पत्र लिखकर जाति जनगणना की मौजूदा प्रक्रिया पर गंभीर चिंता जताई है।

Open-ended सवालों के जरिए जातियों की सही गिनती संभव नहीं है। एक ही जाति अलग-अलग नामों और उपजातियों में दर्ज हुई तो आंकड़े बिखरेंगे और सबसे बड़ा नुकसान OBC, अति पिछड़े और वंचित समुदायों को होगा।

हमारी मांग स्पष्ट है - मौजूदा प्रश्नावली रद्द हो, जातियों की प्रमाणित सूची के आधार पर नई प्रश्नावली बने और राजनीतिक दलों, विशेषज्ञों व जनता से व्यापक परामर्श किया जाए।

तेलंगाना और बिहार के जाति सर्वेक्षणों की तरह, पहले से तैयार और प्रमाणित जाति सूची के आधार पर गणना इसका व्यावहारिक समाधान है।

जाति जनगणना सिर्फ होनी नहीं चाहिए,
सही भी होनी चाहिए।

गडचिरोलीमध्ये सर्पदंशाने तीन आदीवासी मुलींच्या मृत्यूची घटना ताजी असतानाच, पालघरमध्येही मासवण येथील आदिवासी आश्रमशाळेत पहिलीतील श्रीयांश आंबात या विद्यार्थ्याचा संशयास्पद मृत्यू झाल्याचं वृत्त समोर आलं. याच आश्रमशाळेतील इतर २६ विद्यार्थीही आजारी असल्याचं समजतंय. गेल्या दोन वर्षात राज्यात आदिवासी आश्रमशाळेत तब्बल ५८४ विद्यार्थ्यांचा दुर्दैवी मृत्यू झाला आणि ही मालिका थांबत नाहीये तरीही या झोपलेल्या सरकारला जाग येत नाही. या विद्यार्थ्याच्या मृत्यूची सखोल चौकशी झाली पाहिजे आणि आजारी असलेल्या सर्व विद्यार्थ्यांनाही योग्य वैद्यकीय उपचार मिळाले पाहिजेत. हे सरकार आदिवासी माणसांचा फक्तं मतांपुरताच उपयोग करतंय. मंत्री महोदयांनी आपल्याला कुणी निवडून दिलं किमान याची तरी जाणीव ठेवावी आणि नसेल तर खुर्ची खाली करावी..!

“दूसरा एग्जाम भी धांधली से करवाना है?”
