Two very interesting documents that are preserved in the National Archives of India :

1. The Communist Party of India would get subsidies from the British government in the 1940s. The party would send a detailed bill for that purpose to the British government, as seen in image 1.

2. MK Gandhi was receiving 100 rs per month (date given in the letter) from the British government as personal allowance. (To give some understanding of the value of 100 rs at that time - 10 gm gold was valued at rs 18 at the same time).
