Special thanks to @segunaina_ who, after seeing this tweet, reached out to introduce me to Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

We had an extensive discussion on possible partnerships to encourage people in Osun to acquire practical skills that can lead to self-employment or technical careers, thereby reducing reliance on white-collar jobs.

Governor Ademola Adeleke also spoke briefly with Dr. Mohammed, expressing his support and interest in strengthening collaboration between Osun State Government and NABTEB. We look forward to building a solid partnership that will further promote technical and vocational education across Osun state.

This aligns strongly with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes collaboration between government institutions, educational bodies, and the private sector to achieve inclusive and sustainable development.

NABTEB plays a crucial role in Nigeria’s educational ecosystem by organizing examinations in technical, vocational, and business education at both secondary and post-secondary levels, certifying students in skill-based fields such as:
•Electrical Installation
•Mechanical Engineering Craft
•Building Construction
•Catering and Hospitality
•Business Studies
•Computer Craft Practice

The board also awards key professional certificates, including:
•National Technical Certificate (NTC)
•National Business Certificate (NBC)
•Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC)
•Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC)

Together, we aim to empower youth through skills development, create employment pathways, and build sustainable partnerships that advance the SDGs in Osun State and beyond.
