@MongeMkt @emollick It is a goalpost move, but in reverse. We ignore most of what a human can do, build a machine that can equal the subset, claim equivalence. Then, maybe, accept that a human can also do “X” and so we have to extend machine abilities. This may converge or be a Xeno’s paradox

Back in the dark ages, )68-72),there was a profession of IT auditor / forensic auditor. An accounting professional who could audit code for fraud and other criminal intent, or to assign liability. Can’t imagine such a job existing today.

@KentBeck Teaching in India, I observed multiple instances of triplet-programming. Two men side by side sharing keyboard and third, with arms draped over shoulders of other two, offering insights and comments. Seemed to work really well — but not in US culture.

@RonJeffries I wrote my first COBOL in 1968. Assembler for machine-oriented software, COBOL for business-oriented. Wrote programs on columnar paper to be key punched onto cards to be fed up o machine. Debugging tool was a core dump in hexadecimal.
