Literally me. Been on the fence about building a gaming PC for a while... The idea has been creeping up since August 2020, gradually gaining momentum, and last weekend I finally bought a CPU, so I've now officially started.
@Target FYI - Your website errors out when I select the option to wrap something as a gift for $5.99. I get a generic error saying something went wrong, to please review errors and try again, but there are no error details. If I uncheck the box and proceed, it works.
@shanselman Scott, I've followed you for some time and really appreciate both you as a person, and your content. Just read this and felt sad to hear of the amount of pain you're in. I wholeheartedly wish you find relief from it. I personally know it to be possible, and believe you can too.
JavaScript refactoring tip! 👇
Replacing switch statements for object literals.

Spent an afternoon debugging an Angular app. No luck. Frustration levels maxed. Coworker comes and in 1 min says "let's put a console log here" (I was using the debugger all along). Boom, my problem pin pointed. I forgot to check the console. For hours. I feel dumb. #debugging
Do you know the difference between these two CSS properties?
display: none
and
visibility: hidden
If you want to hide the element and its occupied space, use display: none;
visibility: hidden; will hide the element but the space it occupies will remain
#JavaScript tip for today:
When "console-logging" several variables, you can wrap them in curly brackets to better see which value belongs to which variable.
A small thing, but hey.
We frequently spend hours fixing bugs that could have been avoided by a ten minute test.
Remember, if you haven't seen your code run, you don't know if it works. Write a test.
@jonsequitur This makes me happy. Recently started giving VS Code a chance as my IDE for .NET development and it's been mostly fine, but I really miss the C# Interactive window... Really looking forward to this 🤩.
