ETA is here in Berlin and will be all week for InnoTrans to bring the best insights back to New York from the biggest public transit showcase in the world!
If you'd like to meet with our team while we are here, we'd love to hear from you, feel free to drop us a message!
@WaluigiSoap i believe gate is the northern of the 2 DC substations, so i'm trying to figure out if they cut the third rail expansion, precluding m8's getting to penn at all
@WaluigiSoap this whole thing is deeply disappointing, especially descoping stuff, do you have any idea if they announced anything on descoping the DC third rail work during this?
.@PANYNJ - Honestly, it has got to be quicker to just expand @PATHTrain to the terminals at EWR than whatever this $3.5B nonsense is.

Do you support @thequeenslink?
Testify this Mon., 11/18, in favor of City Council Res. 59, which calls on the MTA to conduct an Environmental Impact Statement.
This is crucial in fighting for a project Queens needs, and every voice makes a difference.

@eaconner I’d argue you are better off with either ALM or in a reasonable cost environment extending the 7 and L across, and connecting HBLR from rt 440 to Newark penn. L goes down JFK, and 7 goes towards the heights and Secaucus
The challenges ahead for transit—and other things—in greater New York are enormous.
One thing we have the power to do today, however, is to start Congestion Pricing before it is too late.
It will keep vital funding flowing to the MTA while improving our transit and our streets.
@ThunderWolf08 The key is ensuring this is high platform with a loading gauge compatible with the northeast US rolling stock. At that point you have options with expansion of the HSR or further 25kv electrification.
The importance of having the IBX be entirely grade-separated cannot be overstated.
ETA has long stressed the importance of building this important piece of infrastructure the right way, and we're ecstatic that the MTA made the right choice.

.@amNewYork gets action! MTA officials say they plan to dig a tunnel under a cemetery in Queens for the IBX project instead of having the light rail run on the street in Middle Village. Story TK
@benbrachfeld@amNewYork nice, now that it'll have no more street crossings, let's make those vehicles automated light metro trains now. hey, it's got light in the name, that makes it light rail in my book ;)
