Causing people to suffer because you hate them is terrible, but causing people to suffer because you have forgotten how to care that’s really hard to understand
@GhostPanther @davidsirota The leadership of the Democratic Party is the soft-side of 1% corporate control
Clinton, Obama & now Biden do nothing for working Americans. They’re a false alternative to the #GOP
The same shit, with a fake “liberal” label
@trentlmoore@AOC The problem was nominating a two-bit corporate whore like Biden instead of a progressive like Bernie Sanders.
Manchin & the parliamentarian BS are convenient excuses, when Biden doesn’t give a crap about working Americans
Yeah, no one coulda seen this coming
@broadwayterry @eva_unit_92 @AOC So #Biden & #Harris don’t have any power over Manchin & Sinema??
4 years of “President Manchin” killing anything left of the Trump/McConnell agenda??
The #Dems are a sick joke — watch them lose both the Senate & House in 2022
@AOC Minimum Wage should be $21 when matching productivity.
Dems won’t even pass $15, which would be 5yrs from now
🤬🤬🤬🤬
What a sick joke — might as well let Trump stay in power
Nathan Robinson has been writing a column for The Guardian U.S. since 2017. Then, without warning, The Guardian stopped accepting his pitches after Robinson tweeted criticisms of U.S. arms sales to Israel. https://t.co/A2UiTrNXWh
If the minimum wage is increased, workers:
1) make more money
2) pay more in taxes
3) increase their social security payout for retirement
4) pay more to support Medicare
5) use fewer government programs like SNAP and Medicaid.
63% of West Virginians support raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Q: What stops someone like Joe Manchin from listening to his constituents and supporting a living wage?
A: Corruption
The actual crisis is how entire generations are sunk w/inhumane levels of student debt, low incomes, high rent, no guarantee of healthcare & little action on climate change which creates a situation where feeling stable enough to have a kid can feel more like a luxury than a norm
@AOC This is so disheartening to see, I don't understand why these Conservative Dems want to enable a Dem loss in the 2022 midterms, why are they compromising against their bases interests?
@AOC Also, it sends a message to people who voted for him and other dems on their promise of "immediate $2,000 checks" that this will be another four years of lies and broken promises.
@AOC It looks to be like the conservative Dems are providing cover to Dem leaders who have no real interest in passing a higher sub-living wage. We might as well push for a living wage of $25.
