@robertgatx I once watched a client find another company's name in a proposal footer. The whole next call was about whether we'd mix up their data too.
@csloane Number 2 got us for years. We started logging every small extra in the same thread it was asked in, and at month end about half turned into change orders nobody argued with.
@MasonRaySanders Agreed on the relationship part. Once the pause was in the signed proposal our slowest payer started paying within a day, and I never had to be the bad guy about it.
Hours tell the client what it costs you. Deliverables tell them what they get.
"Brand strategy, 60 hours" vs "a 40 page guideline your team can use."
List the things, then show the price.

Before a client sees any of your work, they see your proposal.
Price hidden on page nine? They assume other things are hidden too. Sent a week after the call? They assume the project runs late.
Write it the way you want the project to go.

@nicholashojx We did a version of this and the what we need from you part did the most work. Clients who wouldn't sign up to their side on paper were the same ones who sat on approvals for two weeks later.
@nishvisualz When they lead with price I send a range and say what sits at each end, like a 30 second cut with two revisions versus 60 seconds with custom 3D. Most of them reply with the brief just to tell me which one they meant.
@AfanAbro Slow approvals were our worst one. We put a five working day approval window in the contract, and past that the timeline moves but the invoice date stays. Approvals sped up once waiting cost them something.
@Jamayal Put the revision count in the proposal right next to the price. When the extra ask comes you point at the page instead of saying no yourself, and it stops feeling personal.
A proposal with no end date tells the client there's no hurry.
Every PropCraft proposal has a valid until date. Two weeks is usually enough to decide, and short enough that someone actually does.
