Had Viralimalai #AIADMK MLA and former Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar resigned earlier, he along with his base would likely have joined #TVK‌ chief & CM Vijay on stage during the Trichy event today.

In the run-up to his expected switch to TVK, Vijayabaskar has been meeting AIADMK cadre and key functionaries who have worked with him for nearly 20 years in the Viralimalai-Pudukkottai region. Though projected as a thanksgiving meeting it is as an effort to ensure his supporters move with him to TVK in large numbers.

With several local AIADMK functionaries already joining TVK, Vijayabaskar's move is expected to bring people in 20 vans, a sizeable section of the Pudukkottai AIADMK unit into the party in Chennai in this week.

The message to Edappadi K. Palaniswami is clear: in his stronghold, Vijayabaskar believes his personal support base is bigger than the party structure.

@Maayaandy 🎯 TVK is more aligned with DMK ideology than EPS or OPS. TN has survived their betrayal. DMK supporters should take a back seat and let things unravel under TVK. DMK leadership should use the time for honest evaluation of their purpose as a party.
