Some awesome RI soccer history!! We love this, even if it was a loss we still had 2,000 local fans going to see the game. Just imagine what the games are going to be like at @TidewaterLandng 100 years later 😍😍
On this day in 1922 the Fall River Marksmen played their first ever official league game and it was at Mark’s Stadium vs J&P Coats of Pawtucket(RI). Unfortunately, it was a 1-0 loss, but the team played well and the 2,000 fans in attendance endured the cold rain to cheer them on.
Many RI soccer players will see their first competitive action this coming weekend at the @SeacoastUnited Labor Day Tournament. Clubs participating include @BaysideFC_RI, @BostonJuventus, RI @SurfSoccerClub & @brunofc2002
Good luck!
