After all these years, I still don't need subtitles. This video of comedian Juan Joya Borja, aka El Risitas, is such a joyous clip. Makes me laugh every time.

He's telling the story of losing nearly all the restaurant's paella pans during his first day as a kitchen helper. He was told to soak the rusted pans in the ocean overnight, but he didn't think about the high tide. He lost 19 pans! I mean, it's such a simple story but made famous by him being him as he tells it. 🙌

My wife's boyfriend has a job running an experimental nuclear reactor in Trieste.

Last month the reactor began to overheat. Meltdown was imminent. The explosion would have destroyed half of Italy, Slovenia and Austria.

Just when they were all on the brink of despair, a brown man—likely a refugee—appeared, and quickly performed complex nuclear engineering to bring the reactor under control.

When they tried to award him Italy's highest civilian honour, the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, he refused and simply said, "This is my culture. In my village, we repair nuclear reactors for free."

And yet the working-class right-wing bigots never hear about this type of thing.

Your mental health problems stem from the lack of basic self care. Show yourself some respect and stop doing stupid shit that makes you age faster and feel miserable.

We have a very serious situation on our hands as a species. It is not clear that we will survive the coming years and decades. Many things threaten our existence and we’re fucking around with shit that doesn’t matter.

We are primitive and shortsighted. We need to grow the fuck up and be equal to this moment.

Start by getting your own mind and body in order. Lift weights and get jacked. Sleep well and stabilize your mood. Eat well and feel energized.

We have work to do.
