@chydorina@einfachkaffee At the Emerge Conference Mark Donohoe suggested that his (ME) patients exhibited some sort of hibernation response with very little cancer or diabetes. Is this how many preserve muscle mass?

Dr. Donohue supports Bloomberg's idea that ME may be a primitive hibernation response that marshals energy only for essentials. He has only had 6 cancer patients-remarkably low, very few with diabetes as well, so ME seems protective in a way.
@chronicleherald Funny, I met a 5'2" woman at a company sales conference who, knowing I was Canadian, asked if I "...know Angus MacAskill?"
"The giant MacAskill?"
"Yes, I'm a direct descendant."
Might not be a bad thing to welcome those with a connection to our land.
@Swelter83@NotASportsBrnr@Warriortotruth@P_McCulloughMD@therealdealJD@SecKennedy@grok Worth reading. Found it interesting that Horowitz uses (4) different antibiotics simultaneously to treat Lyme bacteria in it's four states-Cell wall/cystic/intracellular/extracellular. The limitation is often patient's ability to tolerate Herx.

The UK government has invested £4.75 million in the most detailed genetic study of ME/CFS ever undertaken.
This study, SequenceME, will fully sequence the complete genomes of up to 6,000 patient samples using advanced long-read whole-genome sequencing. This new project will build directly on the DecodeME study, which provided the first robust evidence that genes influence ME risk.
SequenceME aims to create a high-resolution genetic map, pinpoint exact disrupted genes, spot rare variants and structural DNA changes, and explore the epigenome, potentially revealing the biological mechanisms driving the disease.

@erikmoldwarrior@realfoodcures I remember you mentioning gait disturbances among the afflicted during the Truckee/Tahoe outbreak, so seeing @realfoodcures mention the same was interesting, to say the least. Was not aware of the ALS connection.
