.@GavinNewsom Veto CA SB 380 which would drastically shorten the assisted suicide waiting period & end the requirement that the individual make a final attestation affirming their choice before administering the drug. Protect elder & disabled ppl's lives. https://t.co/Zg9px1zqbY
TRIBUTE: @DREDF honors the life and legacy of our dear friend and colleague, Marilyn Golden died at home Sept 21, surrounded by her family. Thank you, Marilyn for leaving a solid foundation for DREDF, and others, to build on. We love you and will miss you. https://t.co/iQx1eocIf6
Thankful to the bipartisan opposition to #assistedsuicide expansion and removing the patient safeguards. Unfortunately it narrowly passed the Assembly, but not before getting the law’s sunset review date amended back into the bill. That was an important and key amendment. #CALEG
Skepticism and opposition continue to grow as #SB380 barely squeaks out of the Assembly Judiciary Committee. Eliminating safeguards, ending any future legislative oversight, very limited state data - SB 380 is a bill without a reason. #caleg
So you are saying SB 380 will remove the safeguards and legislative oversight so more people living with disabilities can be pushed into assisted suicide? What say you @DREDF@DisabilityCA@NotDeadYetUSA @_CFILC?
