We are the #LabradorLandProtectors - a group of concerned citizens fighting against development of the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric megaproject. #ShutMuskratDown
We’re still being brought through the court system in our resistance to #MuskratFalls
We expect our legal fees to amount to another $20k
This is the cost of protecting our ancestral home
Please share our fundraising page & help financially if you can! https://t.co/l4pL5HkapI
.@JustinTrudeau’s decision to bail out
the atrocity that is @NalcorEnergy’s Muskrat Falls dam
is irresponsible cronyism at its best
this is going to cost the people $5 billion MORE than it already has.
this is disgusting mismanagement and borders on sheer corruption
Hydropower in Canada and across the world has devastated communities and ecosystems.
Displacement, flooding, methylmercury contamination, and ecosystem destruction are just some of the negative impacts of this river-destroying power source.

#InnuNation says Nalcor’s new CEO needs to begin her new position with a full understanding that Muskrat Falls is on Innu land and that any decision taken by Nalcor or the government in relation to #hydropower development must include the Innu. #nlpoli https://t.co/pYjzUTfZWP
Reminder that mega dams are not clean, not green, and not a climate solution
They devastate rivers, ecosystems, food webs, Indigenous livelihoods and cultures
We will continue to resist mega hydro, as we always have and always will

Yesterday the Labrador Land Protectors were given suspended sentences of 2 years for resisting the destruction of their lands, waters, and way of life. Our legal system is a part of our colonial problem, and is being used as a tool to silence and suppress them.
