@soulsobreezy FUNCTIONAL ITEMS!
We already have Cooking stove, but give me profession tables, Bank maybe, training dummies etc. Make my house a reason to visit my neighborhood rather than a decoration simulator. If every other mmo can function with it WoW can too!
@soulsobreezy I feel like I would be more into the housing content if it was shorter and more bitesized but also I just feel like I dont have as much time to engage in housing becuase of the breakneck pace of content both filler and endgame.
@ProfBreen587@soulsobreezy Remix is an ethereal mode. You dont have to worry about long-term effects in a short-term mode. In retail however, the server is designed to last 10, 20, 30+ more years so gold sinks are how they directly combat the inflation from mobs, quests, and other sources generating gold.
I don’t even have it in me to be mad anymore, they’ve beaten the care out of me. Whatever man, I’m sure there’s some person somewhere this appeals to, good for this hypothetical cozycraft consumer
@podopriguez@lovabler0gue And to be clear, I love interactive fiction and walking sims. I fully intend on playing Mixtape myself. But it's just letting you not fail on "action" moments is a bit silly. It could have been a good accessibility setting, but it shouldn't have never been the default.
@podopriguez@lovabler0gue Notably, though, the critique (which I dont fully agree with) is that this isn't a game. If IGN called Sinners a 10/10 video game, I assume you would have an issue with that
The debate isn't that this isn't punk enough; it's that it's not punk at all. It is interactive fiction.
@soulsobreezy@wow_sayto If they want to be more solo-friendly, they need to focus on compelling, earned narratives. The fact that every patch since WW has been Xalath kills a minor character or fake-out kills a major one, or undoing years-long traumas and hatred in 20 quests just feels hollow.
@soulsobreezy@wow_sayto I would agree to an extent, but I think that it proves that you can tell a compelling story and its not as simple as "its a game first". Part of the problem is everyone who is complaining about the story, including myself, has a slightly different reason. But clearly its possible
@soulsobreezy Personally,i think there is a middle ground. If a major tragedy happens, it's normal to sit with it for a while. But people dont sit in it forever. THAT is where the reverie can come, but if, say 20 mins after Thanos snapped, they partied, it subtracts from the tragedy negitively
@MeesRp@ryanalxander91 Yeah, this is the problem with "boy who cried dead character." At a certain point, the OH WOW moments become obvious fakeouts (even if this time they are not). it removes all the wind from the sails Kadgar should have remained dead and we need to allow defeat to breathe.
@soulsobreezy@wow_sayto How do you reconcile this with FFXIV winning BAFTA, SxSW awards MMOscars, and multiple more for its story?
At what point is it rational to expect competency on par with one's competitors? As someone who plays games for their story games are an incredible medium for storytelling
@traach04@BellularGaming It would be like giving out rep tokens, mounts/pets, undercoin and other "casual stuff" in raid and M+ because "sweats dont like casual stuff."
Imo its equally silly. Either do the thing that gives the reward or wait until Blizzard waters down the stuff you dont like.
@traach04@BellularGaming Absolutely, but I do avoid them for the week or two until my guild completes the raid. I dont understand why we dont have an expectation that "story mode gamers" can avoid internet spoilers for a week while we reward players who play the Social game socially.
@xKaedos My question to you is, if we are changing the game because spoilers happen, where is the line? Should quest zones come out one at a time to avoid spoiler cutscenes? I had the quest cinematics spoiled.
Why punish those who do the content rather than advise how to avoid spoilers?
@traach04@BellularGaming Most guilds dont raid on Tuesday. The week lets the "sweaties" raid throughout the week. Most common raid days are wendsday and sunday iirc. Also worth noting that most guilds dont clear 8 boss raids in a week fwiw.
