At the invitation of French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, H.E. @jnbarrot, in Paris, I held focused bilateral talks aimed at accelerating and deepening the Kenya–France partnership. Our engagement was driven by shared values, mutual respect, and a clear commitment to advance peace, development, and effective multilateral action.
We directly addressed evolving regional and global security dynamics against the backdrop of shifting socio-economic and geopolitical realities. Kenya and France reaffirmed the centrality of the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law as essential tools for safeguarding regional stability and strengthening global peace and security efforts.
The discussions also advanced preparations for the upcoming Africa–France Summit, scheduled to take place in Kenya from 11th to 12th May 2026. This milestone gathering will see Kenya make history as the first non-Francophone African nation to host the summit, positioning the country at the centre of Africa–Europe strategic engagement.
Kenya welcomes the strong political momentum shaping a more inclusive and forward-looking Africa–France relationship, focused on delivering concrete, bankable, and measurable outcomes. Priority areas include reform of the international financial architecture, energy transition, green industrialisation, digital innovation, sustainable agriculture, and resilient health-care systems.
In a historic moment for Kenya–Uzbekistan relations, I joined H.E. Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly to sign a landmark bilateral cooperation agreement between our two nations.
The signing, held at the Kenyan Mission to the United Nations, opens bold new frontiers of collaboration and establishes a solid framework to deepen ties in critical sectors including mining, oil and gas, agriculture, tourism, trade, and investment.
This step not only strengthens our diplomatic engagement but also creates opportunities for sustainable growth and mutual prosperity.
Kenya and Uzbekistan have long partnered at the multilateral level, supporting one another’s aspirations for peace, development, and human rights. Today’s milestone elevates that partnership to a new level of direct bilateral cooperation, aligned with the principles of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
Looking ahead, I am confident that this agreement will serve as a cornerstone for closer collaboration in addressing shared global challenges and unlocking opportunities for both our nations.

Met with representatives of the G7 and our development partners at the Railways Headquarters, where we reviewed the progress of priority pilot programmes designed to ease congestion across the Nairobi Metropolitan Area’s transport corridors.
Alongside Hon. @davis_chirchir, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, we undertook a thorough and forward-looking evaluation of strategic initiatives in the transport sector, initiatives crafted to enhance mobility, expand accessibility, and foster a more sustainable urban environment.
Our dialogue with Their Excellencies, members of the diplomatic corps, and our esteemed partners, led by H.E. @FCDONeilWigan, OBE, British High Commissioner, underscored our collective resolve to transform Nairobi’s urban infrastructure through partnership, innovation, and accountability.
We remain steadfast in advancing these programmes as a critical pillar of Kenya’s development journey. Our mission is clear: to deliver smarter, safer, and more efficient transport solutions that meet the aspirations of all Kenyans.
Together, let us continue charting the path toward a better connected, greener, and more livable Nairobi for generations to come.

Citizens, stand up when you have reason to do so, but respect the rights of others.
Let us all obey the law. That is the right thing to do.
Joined H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, H.E. Deputy President @KindikiKithure, Cabinet colleagues, and senior government officials at the Third Cabinet Retreat and Mid-Term Review held at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen. This strategic gathering offered a critical opportunity to take stock of our progress at the halfway mark of the Kenya Kwanza Administration and to refine our trajectory moving forward.
Under the theme “Charting the Course Ahead,” we reflected on the milestones reached over the past two and a half years and the evolving national and global landscape shaping our work. We engaged in candid discussions on the challenges encountered and explored practical solutions to fast-track implementation across all sectors.
The State Departments for National Government Coordination and Parliamentary Affairs have continued to play a pivotal role in enhancing service delivery and ensuring the seamless alignment of our legislative agenda. On the international front, our Foreign and Diaspora relations have gained renewed momentum following the launch of Kenya’s revised Foreign Policy and Diaspora Policy in December 2024 and March 2025, respectively.
This retreat reaffirmed the strength of our Whole-of-Government approach, anchored in unity, accountability, and results. As we enter the second half of our term, we remain committed to closing implementation gaps, adapting with agility, and delivering on the promises made to the people of Kenya.
