Product Director, Groceries at Deliveroo - formerly at Alexa Shopping and “an unlikely Tesco employee” according to Wired. Own opinions. Dormant account.
Was 10-minute grocery delivery always a pipe dream? @Deliveroo's @prw25 shares his views 👇

Generally stopped using Twitter since all the X nonsense in favour of LinkedIn and Reels from my daily scrolling fix. Still lots of interesting stuff here though that I don’t see elsewhere. Maybe should pick it back up more.
@thomasforth Not just about selling the data but about using it too for everything from tailoring ranges for a particular store to improving availability and personalised marketing.
@thomasforth A fair bit of money comes from selling the data (look at Dunnhumby profits) but putting regular offers behind the loyalty “wall” has also increased participation (from an already high level, think mid 80s%) and therefore also increases the quality of the data.
Looks like a HoloLens with an external battery pack and a different OS. Will be interesting to see what field of view is like as having spent a bit of time using HoloLens that was its biggest limitation. #visionpro
This is classic Amazon, building an impressive
capability, opening it up as a service for others to use. Look forward to seeing new hardware, I'm sure there will be some good automated grocery shopping related stuff. #amazon#hardware#sidewalk#iot https://t.co/Vb53iDcCFn
I went to the Monument one at lunchtime today which has the new hybrid setup and it actually had quite a few customers in (to my surprise). Most people paying by card. Much bigger and a lot more stock than the ones I saw in New York in Jan too.
As predicted, the fanfare relaunch of Amazon Fresh sans entry barriers in Islington has rapidly reverted to me being the only customer again.
Everything changes, but nothing changes!
Great session #RWL23 on AI. Yes, I know it’s yet more on AI, but this was genuinely interesting content from @prw25 and John Mildinhall of @marksandspencer along with Rob Hughes @GoGreyOrange.
Really great to hear from Roisin Currie and Seb James this morning at #RWL2023. Both had a few interesting nuggets and a lot of reminders to get out into shops!
@hwallop@CadburyUK Definitely a bit disappointing, I tried it too. Presumably not possible/practical to coat everything with a really thin layer of chocolate?
Bag on the end of a string (vast over simplification) seems to be the winning formula for drone delivery now. @Wing@MannaAero@zipline now all talking more about scaling and efficient loading too. Additions to increase control of bag from Zipine too: https://t.co/WoUrWJTh1G
1/ Today, Zipline unveiled our next generation delivery drone system, designed to provide the best home delivery service the planet has ever seen. It's so out-there that you probably won't believe your eyes... 🧵
Tesco has been accused by suppliers of an “outrageous” money grab, after announcing it plans to introduce new Amazon-style “fulfilment fees” for its online and Booker wholesale operations

This week our brand new Deliveroo Developer Portal went live with it's first API. Exciting stuff and lots more to come in this space! You can sign up at https://t.co/VuSAjFDm44
I've written a bit about store merchandising processes in my time, mostly about using tech to automate it.
Not once mentioned getting your fans to do it for you but judging by the response this was pretty effective! Discussions about Shelf Ready Packaging (SRP) in comments too.
I need your help! Next time you see Feastables in Walmart (and soon to be new retailers) if you could clean up the presentation and make it look better that’d make me very happy 🥺
I’m building a team to do this routinely, just need help in the short term ❤️
This (very nice) visualisation set about film success is not only interesting by itself but also gives a nice demonstration of why the headline metric isn't always the best one for determining success of your product. https://t.co/ntG5rMmYtw #metrics#productmanagement
A lot of human senses are yet to be fully digitised and here is an interesting development on smell: https://t.co/S6xWkKtTS8.
Some interesting videos in this thread @wolfejosh posted from a Lux LP event too: https://t.co/KP6k1yuWry
5/ Here was an exclusive clip from OSMO founder Alex @ recent Lux LP exclusive event (on tech x bio including breakthroughs in gene therapy and unstealthing of OSMO…)
Some mindblowing factoids about this industry…
