I really wish Apple would give special access to apps that have time sensitive health information. For me, if my dang Home Screen widget and Apple Watch complication could update up to 288 times a day to show my 5 min Dexcom value that would be so nice.
This is huge! ❤️

@Brock_Heinz@Tidepool_org@ps2@KateFarnsworth It’s built on top of the open-source version and many of the improvements have been back-ported, as was promised from Tidepool from day one. It’s a fantastic example of a public/private relationship in driving innovation.
Huge news in the #diabetes space, @Tidepool_org's open-source artificial pancreas has received FDA clearance! https://t.co/6DqUvufcRH it's happening! #WeAreNotWaiting Congrats @ps2 and thanks to @loudnate and everyone in the online diabetes comunity!
@willing Thanks, yeah, at this point I'm convinced of the same. I filed a feedback and a test app that reproduces the problem here: https://t.co/BRXFoYXCUg
They showed a very credible and powerful architecture that they've developed for teaching computers to understand a 3d world in motion, and distilling that knowledge into something that can be executed on the fly. Really impressed.
Tesla AI Day was a surreal blend of mind blowing real tech, and vague, hand-wavy future promises. I did come away significantly more confident in them being very close to solving FSD, however.

While we're talking about Iowa this afternoon, let's examine corn sweat... interesting to see the divergence in top-tier dew points between a corny and less corny area during the mid to late summer.
Corn adds a lot of moisture to the air and helps juice up those top-tier days.
@MelindaMWedding@bewestisdoing@Heather_RoseW Being loud and yelling at our broken systems and companies that make huge hoops for patients to jump through is awesome and raises awareness. Thank you. I thought you might be yelling others trying to improve their health.
@MelindaMWedding@bewestisdoing@Heather_RoseW You ask for “proof” that there will be a positive effect on the diabetes community. I can’t give that, but this money *is* going back to the coffers of the companies that are competing in the diabetes space to make the best sensors. I’d assume this would be a good thing.
@MelindaMWedding@bewestisdoing@Heather_RoseW I love the t1d community and I love diy health hackers as well. This feels like infighting when the real bad guys enjoy our distraction.
@MelindaMWedding@petershankman@veristable Totally understand the skepticism. Companies generally try to maximize profit, and with our messed up healthcare system, incentives are misaligned all over the place.
