An indirect but consequential aspect of throwing AI at healthcare: it permits making explicit considerations in decisions previously implicit and opaque. For example: "Why did you bill more for patient A compared to patient B?" The answers can inform policy (and/or motivate some LLM builders to steer/align them to obfuscating explanations).

@parthaskar@PHU_NHS Fun: I worked at Meraki implementing "bring your own device" networking policies for network operators, later acquired by Cisco for over $1bn. Since, I've worked on similar "BYOD" networking concepts relevant for insulin pumps and CGM. Nightscout and openaps are prime examples.
