@amateuradam Well put, well worded tribute/lament for the NHS on its 75th birthday on @BBC4WorldAtOne . Brought a tear to my eye. Will there be 100th birthday? Good question.
@NigelMercer@TheBMA If already retired, you have a very generous pension, merit awards were big, pensionable and continued to retirement, consultants were revered. None of this applies for future consultants. It’s about the future, not those who had a sweet deal.
Public transport alternative to driving - trying to get home after long work day.
No explanation, no X5 buses running (a route to be scrapped).
Thanks @FirstBSA for the meaningful apology at the foot of this dismal notice.
@missmelosborne@FirstBSA I defer to your knowledge, being in the rail industry. Local paper suggests rail project going backwards.
I read a seemingly cogent argument that rail link is sentimental & waste of ££. Just need an effective clean bus service. Back to you @FirstBSA 😆
@missmelosborne@FirstBSA Got home v late. Portishead rail link - under discussion for many years. No progress & each time there’s an announcement, project price tag increases by several £mil.
@morefluids Appreciate the love for this! Took off more than “no anaesthesia like no anaesthesia” (sometimes best care is being paid to “do nothing”). These are recycled wisdom from long-retired wise owls - “we ain’t here” was from a surgeon!
