@smallfry676 Great point Scott. However, for $800m (less than half the cost of the Levin bypass) we could buy 18 new hybrid trains to triple services to Levin, Palmy and also the Wairarapa. We'd also have enough $ left over to fund the $900m of track renewals needed across the region.

If the Levin bypass - a 4 lane highway through flat farmland - increased by a billion, I hate to think how much a 2nd Mt Vic Tunnel is gonna cost (2022 est. was $2.2b)

Ray Chung has probably disqualified himself by being a weird creep and generally shambolic.

This new Harbour Quays bus route is big. Speeding up bus trips through the city makes daily life better for people, gets more bus frequency for the same cost and services more destinations. I hope the government will reconsider its decision not to help fund this infrastructure.
