@VetPathophile Remarkable how much human path can be applied to vet path. Our 10 yo poodle mix had one underneath her chin. Freaked me out cause it grew so fast and ulcerated, I was also very concerned about a MCT. But when I did the smear I saw exactly what you posted, hers regressed in 2 wks

Cytology: bland round to oval nuclei and ample cytoplasm without granules

Dx: histiocytoma. Should regress

Let's start by calling it IMMUNE thrombocytopenia instead of IDIOPATHIC thrombocytopenia.

The P stood for Purpura in the past. Not anymore!

T= Thrombocytopenia = <100,000 platelets

@TheKarenPinto @Janiranavarro Great post to highlight this issue. In my view, anything you want bc there isn’t any guideline(s) that can be objectively followed. I often word it as such “DLBCL/high-grade lymphoma” with a comment stating the differential and that further subclassification requires genetics
