US NEW HOME SALES SLUMP 10.5% IN JULY

US single-family new home sales fell 10.5% in July to an annualized 607,000 units, below the 620,000 expected.

Supply rose sharply to 9.6 months, from 8.5 months in June.

Homes for sale increased to 488,000, from 479,000.

The median sale price fell 0.9% YoY to $393,800, pointing to softer demand and rising inventory.
