This is probably going to rub some people the wrong way, but it’s my platform and my opinion, so here we go…
Summer baseball through the high school program should only be for the development of depth players.
The best players in each class should be able to go play on the summer travel circuit and chase playing more quality opponents.
I feel like it’s no coincidence that some of the best teams in our area in recent years do not try to strong arm their best players into staying home for the summer and playing the same teams (often depleted) that they just got done playing in the regular season.
The best events to play in for competition (underclassmen) and recruiting visibility (upperclassmen) happen in June and early July. Strong arming players into staying home and playing lesser competition doesn’t help their development in the long term.
Let them get out, face different opponents, different adversity, and be coached by different people. They will be better for it. Just look at the schools that are winning and pumping out D1 dudes.
Very few, and I mean very few kids belong in D1 baseball as freshmen. Even less belong in P5 baseball.
With that being said. Every time I see a kid post a commitment to a junior college, D2, D3 or NAIA school, I think, that kid got good advice.
The kids that do belong in D1, and most especially P5 schools out of high school are the kids that are legitimately deciding between a pro contract and school.
The percentage of kids that get meaningful playing time as freshmen at D1, and most especially P5 schools advertises it's not a great decision for most.
The Truth is the truth.
Very few kids that say they want to play college or professional baseball, really want to play college or professional baseball.
Very few want to really do what it takes.
Very few want to sacrifice enough to make it a reality.
They like the idea of playing college or professional baseball, but are simply not willing to prove they really want to do it.
They want it to be easy, and it's designed to be cruel, rude and nasty at times.
Congratulations to our 2026 Regional Showcase players who will be fulfilling their dreams of playing college baseball. DM us if you are looking at playing at an organization that focuses on on player development and getting players to play at the next level.

The boys giving back to their community is a valuable lesson we are teaching these young men. We are very thankful for everything that VFW Susquehanna Post 2493 does for our team and community.

Super excited to announce my commitment to @ClarionBaseball . Thank you to all the amazing coaches @elite_national2 for helping me achieve my dream of playing college baseball. I also would like to thank Coach Poss and the entire Clarion staff for giving me this opportunity!
Improving one at bat at a time. So far splitting time between JV and Varsity. The last clip I recorded my first varsity hit on a two strike single to right field to drive in a run. Can't wait to get back at it. #embracetheprocess@elitebaseballco@elite_national2@CoachBurke5
