@owlmore1 A very valid question! I believe self-experience is essential when working with altered stated of consciousness, not limited to pharmacologically induced tho; I also believe a contemplative practice such as meditation would be beneficial for therapists -psychedelic or otherwise
With more psychedelic therapy studies and training programs emerging, former study participants may want to become therapists. Should those who conducted the studies be also the trainers of these future practitioners?

Sometimes, a lab coat masks more than it reveals. Behind integrity & innovation, some organizations foster cult-like structures—charismatic leaders, silenced dissent, and exploited idealists. Those who leave often face defamation. Question not just what’s done, but how & why.
Interacting with #AI reveals how you treat yourself. When it misses the mark, do you lash out or show patience? Being mean to AI doesn’t hurt it—it shapes you, reinforcing frustration. Next time, pause. #Breathe. The lesson isn’t about the AI—it’s about you.
We often use intellect and spirituality as places for the ego to hide, bypassing deeper truths.
True growth happens when we ground ourselves in honesty, letting the mind meet the soul’s reflection.
Only then do we reveal the parts we’d rather avoid.
@TheBorisLab@trpwolff Absolutely. My guess is psychotherapy can’t be like surgery, because it is the patient themselves who needs to navigate their psychological anatomy and “operate” on themselves. Therapist provide guidance for the clients to navigate and integrate
Research should be conducted with whole psychedelic mushrooms and extract ...given this preliminary data, especially when considering that medicine keepers around the world have utilized whole mushrooms and plant material for millennia.

@ee_schenberg@trpwolff I don’t know if that is correct, lots of people died from anesthesia in the beginning. There’s a bit more to anesthesia than turning the lights off ^^ such as taking over every physiological function of your body during anesthesia. Breathing, cardiovascular, etc
@TheBorisLab@trpwolff We could then say all medication are tools for treatment. Meds interact with biological processes and have a therapeutic effect. Tools usually refers to instruments or equipment, such as a stethoscope 🩺
@TheBorisLab@trpwolff Dexdor is an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonists, I wouldn’t dare to say it’s an anesthetic. It’s a great sedative for ICU or adjunct for actual anesthetic. Would you do surgery only with dexmed or clonidine? Remi is just another benzo, a sedative imho
