"Face-to-face relationships
will continue to hold considerable importance,
but on-line relationships formed around cooperative interactions, such as Skype, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, QuQu will become more and more dominant." #EDL_655
What do you guys think about the idea of self-evaluation? Can we be genuine enough to truly criticize ourselves in a manner which improves our effectiveness?

@MarkBrickley I think that the modifier of 'completely' puts this in the 'No' category for me. If there was a team effort, sure. The issue is that students don't always know what they want or what is best for them. I sound like an adult, I'm stopping now. #EDL_655
So where do we find all these people across the world to bring into the classroom digitally or work with across languages? Does this work with 150+ students? Seems great for one class of 30ish at the lower levels. #EDL_655
@MarkBrickley To be fair, those devices are where most of the liability is, the network should be robust enough with filters etc. The questions them becomes should school resources be spent on fixing broken personal devices? Again, it looks like the district must provide the device. #EDL_655
#EDL_655 What do you think about BYOD? Imazeki's article seemed fairly naive, there's no way I could ever be more entertaining than a phone (I jump on desks sometimes). I've tried being lenient/reasonable in the past, never worked. It's to the point where I bought a locker.
@Carolin66345489 Things with cameras and GPS can be handy for life sciences, you'd be surprised at what you can do with https://t.co/rDelvBkRHt #EDL_655
@thebadler I'm with you there, even the things in our textbook are already outdated. Technology moves quick and just like it, we should never resort to reusing old materials without updating them all the time. #EDL_655
#EDL_655 Storytelling is great! If you've noticed your most admired people, works of art, etc. It's always based on their stories. What's your best story? Mine involves chasing a deer and almost getting whomped by a buffalo.
#EDL_655 I can't get over the story about the parent stopping the imagination of the child enough. I think that too often we can inadvertently shut down what would otherwise become productive thinking and creativity. https://t.co/TdenhSc317
I became interested in Emily Pilloton's project in Bertie, but I can't find anything on what's going on recently, it looks like everything is from around the same time as the video. Did it become successful? Did it fail? #EDL_655
I know pathways in Science in which I can foster critical thinking through inquiry, are there more general pathways that are not subject-specific that anyone is familiar with?

@nellie_tate I tend to take them outside where they're free of their electronics. I'm spoiled teaching Biology and can do this often. Work in a little Scientific Method and they find their own answers. Just have to make sure they set proper controls. #EDL_655
The P21 Framework is a great starting point for picking out skills as end goals for activities. If you can't find any that relate, it's time to re-think your plans. #EDL_655

@Leomypd I think it's best to collaborate with as many experts at the site as possible. Setting the challenges to paper is an awesome first step and can then open up the design process to start. #EDL_655
