Meet Julia Pennington-Gilchrist, the North Region Teacher of the Year finalist whose impact extends far beyond the classroom. For 31 years, she has led with care and purpose, strengthening school communities and helping students thrive.
At @FSWSkyway, her students consistently achieve at the highest levels, and through her leadership of Scholarship Sundays, she has helped students earn more than $100,000 in scholarships.

Meet Chef Gary Spitnale, Teacher of the Year finalist for Postsecondary Career and Technical Education/Division of Educational Opportunities, a culinary arts instructor at @MlecTech who has spent more than 55 years turning passion into profession.
A mentor at heart, he brings real-world, five-star industry experience into the classroom while preparing students for success beyond graduation. Under his leadership, more than 90% of students earn industry-recognized certifications, and many shine in high-level competitions where their professionalism and technical skills stand out.

Chief Nation is proud to be joining forces with FPL as we prepare for the Electrathon Competition on January 31st! 🚗⚡ Florida Power & Light is generously donating an Electrathon build kit to our Carol City Senior High School EV program—giving our students a next-level hands-on learning experience.
Our student teams will be designing, building, and competing in fully electric go-karts—and let me be clear… this competition isn’t about speed… it’s about ENDURANCE 💪🏾🔥
🏁 Winners are determined by the most laps completed or the farthest distance traveled in one hour on a single battery charge!
