I was in Cleveland the night they won game 7.
The town was literally shut down – they closed offramp exits from the highway to stop the flood of people entering the city.
Streets were flooded with people, those lucky enough to get in the bars were body to body like a moshpit.
Everywhere ran out of beer – me and my friends were literally drinking hard root beer and whatever other weird nonsense they had—until that ran out.
Kudos to @superior_bevgrp and their drivers dedication— they showed up around halftime with whatever they had available, but they couldn’t get through the doors. They literally had to crowdsurf all cases of beer to get it to the bar— we were happy to help.
After the game, there was a city collectively sharing raw emotion, elated tears, joy and celebration all throughout downtown— you could feel it in the air.
Yes, the city shut down.. first responders were everywhere.. police and fire, sirens and lights as far as you could see—but they were dancing on their trucks and cruisers. They were hugging random citizens.
All positive vibes. Everywhere.
One of the most surreal, unbelievable human moments in my lifetime.
That’s how you celebrate.
New York should be ashamed.
@Brino1656@SecKennedy@WhitingSerina@nytimes I respectfully disagree.
This is the exact kind of engagement that needs to happen on a regular basis to hold people accountable.
Those in public service, like @SecKennedy, should be held at the same standard as well.
The more transparency we get the better.
@SecKennedy@nytimes Ball is in your court @SherylNYT
I’d love to see the NYT (any major publication, really) put the sensationalic pitchforks aside and help the people of this country build some perspective on what’s actually happening.
Quit stoking the fire. Inform.
@FinalFantasy@SquareEnix Great to see the HD-2D format is making its way to the Final Fantasy franchise
…can we expect the original six to receive the same treatment? 👀
Never played Brave Exvius, but the concept here sounds fantastic.
@HHSResponse@SecKennedy@NIH@NIHDirector_Jay This seems logical.. and embarrassing that these efforts didn’t exist after the development of the printing press.
I’m hoping the national temper flares ease up so practical, small investments like this can be supported by all humans, red and blue.
—but no back log.. 😏 kudos on the healthy, realistic mindset.
Wait until you have kids—you’ll be living vicariously through those that still harness this wildly foreign concept known as, free time.
“Wait, so you just played randomly for 4 hours straight with zero consequence?!”
..it’s like talking to that single friend that still goes out regularly, hooks up with randoms..
“Start at the beginning—I want all the details.. talk slow.”
The last 30 years or so has been pretty one-sided between the Buckeyes & Sparty..
and they definitely share a kinship for sh*ttin on Michigan (who doesn’t?)
—BUT, you go back further and you’ll see Michigan State is responsible for some DEVASTATING heartbreak for Buckeye fans:
The one that stings first for me is 1998..
In a decade where Lloyd Carr had Cooper’s number—despite OSU’s talent gap— and after multiple consecutive gut wrenching loses to Michigan, the year we finally get it done against those bastards… we lost to Nick Saban’s Sparty a few weeks prior—keeping us from another national title in a decade where we let 2-3 others slip through our fingertips.
In 2013, Michigan State exposed us in the B1G championship after a 24-0 run—Urban’s first loss—eliminating us from the BCS national championship game. Ouch.
Then there’s the Connor Cook-less game in 2015… Last second field goal. Ed Warinner and the offensive dysfunction held us back.
No B1G title game. No playoff. Should’ve gone back to back—that team was LOADED. That one hurt BAD.
Damn you Sparty!!
@HoegLaw I’m sure we all figured as much— it’s all love man!
@davidscottjaffe if you see this—I’m a fellow fat, of the Larry David yo-yo variety: highs of 268lbs, gotten as low as 176, slowly plumped back up to 235 now…
I’ll take some fat shaming motivation anytime 😎
@HoegLaw Congrats Hoeg —that’s incredible man! 👏👏👏
No filter folk like Jaffe are a necessary reality check we all need in our lives.
I’m glad it resonated.
Way to make it work for you. Inspiring stuff
@AdamSchefter 🚨RECRUITING UPDATE🚨
The Ohio State Buckeyes just got out bid for for coveted 5⭐️RB David Gabriel Georges
Tennessee made him an offer he couldn’t refuse 🙄
Valve is a great example. I applaud their transparency over the years with AI—they’ve evolved their stance tremendously over that time.
They went from banning AI content completely, to allowing it with a disclosure.
That was two years ago— and now they softened up a ton as AI tools have matured and become standard practice literally everywhere.
They take a hard stance on disclosing consumer facing AI content—as they should.
But if it’s used on the backend simply for workflow efficiencies, etc—developers no longer have to disclose its usage, per Valve.
It’s a tool guys, spears down.
