A very productive morning weeding outside @growingforgold @EGRA_London. Not a drop of glyphosate in sight! It’s so good to get out there and do something for the local community.I’m sure others will agree! @ElthamEnviros #GreenerGreenwichCommunityGroup
NEW: Long waits for Greenwich line trains will be cut - but not in the next timetable change, Southeastern's boss has promised ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ https://t.co/OSDbg6ulac
EXCLUSIVE: The Greenwich planning chair who approved the 36-storey Morden Wharf development with his casting vote has now joined a firm working on the project https://t.co/UkDNtJSENj
@BELLEGREENWICH@HardwickRalph@willnorman@sabrodrigues61@Royal_Greenwich@EnvAgencySE @EGRA_London Planning application 19/3298/F regarding expansion of the site to include taking over the adjacent public jetty. Resubmitted last year but still no plans to improve the very narrow Thames Path around the site and no dust or noise mitigation.
Bit concerning to see a @Royal_Greenwich employee telling @KateM45 she’s not allowed to film him as he drives down the wrong side of Vanbrugh Hill in a council vehicle. I trust the council will take this seriously. @MPSGreenwich
Vanburgh hill - a fatal accident waiting to happen. Crossing is terrifying due to drivers coming around the blind bend at speed or using the wrong side of the road- like this guy who told me it was allowed because they are @Royal_Greenwich security. @DanLThorpe
@Chris_C_Lloyd Well said Chris. Having lived in a rat-running area (Christchurch Way/Azof St/Bellot St) before and after it became an LTN in the 90's, the difference was amazing. Supported @EGRA_London calls for LTN's in Pelton and Walnut Tree Roads to stop rat-running because of that.
@RichardT135@deptforddame @EGRA_London For years in the 90's both lifts were decommissioned as they were being rebuilt. Got very used to carrying a bike up and down the nearly 100 stairs at either end. That was then. Couldn't imagine trying to do it with a much heavier electric bike.
@TfL@willnorman@Heidi_LDN have you seen what your cameras are picking up at the Blackwall Lane and Woolwich Road junction of the new cycleway in East Greenwich? Time to fix this. #StreetspaceLDN.
Greenwich society and EGRA gardeners joining residents of Highbridge Wharf in planting the beds in front of Trinity Almshouses on the Thames Path. Huge thanks to @theroyalparks Greenwich for the many wonderful bedding plants and @growingforgold for plants and tools.
@RichardT135 Biggest issue is the crossing at Rodmere Street. Pedestrian light green for 5 seconds - no red light to stop cars still in the junction driving through as pedestrians try to cross.
Sunday afternoon strolling through a low traffic neighbourhood in East Greenwich and came across a harpist playing the most amazing music in her front garden - all socially distanced! 🙂 #community @EGRA_London @SarahJ_Berry@DanLThorpe @Chris_C_Lloyd
@stillnotclare@aidanmasmith @EGRA_London Great mornings work. Wallflowers donated to the Rose Garden Park by local resident Alan from Alan's Plants Garden Centre on Woolwich Road. Other plants and tool share from @growingforgold Christchurch School Community Garden.
@EGRA_London @Royal_Greenwich@dscottmcdonald @Chris_C_Lloyd @Brain1Brain At 9 the bollard was back up. Probably replaced by a parent concerned about the safety of children using Pelton Road to get to school. Still no lock though.
One thing I think drivers don't get is that the inconvenience they're experiencing from school streets, LTNs and cycle lanes is miniscule in comparison to the inconvenience other road users have been asked to take for the benefit of drivers over the years.
