Our paper "Air quality–related health damages of food" in @PNASNews is discussed in Ep. 1 "Food" of @netflix's "The G Word".
Thank you, @adamconover, @BarackObama and @MichelleObama for covering our research.

Please RT: My coauthors and I have received numerous requests for the county-level data (deaths caused per commodity) in our paper "Air quality related health damages of food." (https://t.co/ca07CmazkN). We've posted the data here: https://t.co/qNySlaBCrc. A sample query follows.
A boring thread on supermarkets in the USA, compared to Europe.
1)It's incredible how many SKU's there are, but how little choice there is.
Somehow there is 600 facings of about 5 types of cheese. It's cheddar cut in different ways, packaged in different sizes, but no Halloumi?
#OpenAccess helps our research reach a broader audience. Our new paper in @PNASNews on the #AirQuality impacts of #food has been read >25,000 times since last Monday. The cost per download is already now <$0.10 and falling. Worth every penny! 🪙 https://t.co/ca07ClSYtf
@jizartenorio Yeah, and I think you have the option to postpone anyway, right? Seems like all the reasons why you would maybe want to spend those bucks (the ceremony, celebrating with family/advisor, etc.) don't hold this year.
The only kind of censorship I've seen so far coming out of the @cmugsa statement kerfuffle is international students who voluntarily self-censored because they are afraid of repercussions.
The initiators of the petition criticizing @cmugsa's first statement on anti-Asian violence provide some more details on their motivations and how they painted the Fence.
@Physburgh@animohan11 @kristencallen Of course I can understand people experiencing stress in this manner, Michael. The statement presumably intended to be supportive, but instead ended up being divisive. In that sense, it missed the mark.
@Physburgh@animohan11 @kristencallen No, I can't. Especially since that very same statement also refused to even mention the faculty member who was touring the country while spewing hateful language in the fall, which had a much more direct impact on students.
@Physburgh @kristencallen I am not denying anyone's lived experience. I have my own personal views on these subjects as well, but I wouldn't espouse them while claiming to represent ALL graduate students at CMU in this manner.
