Here's an alternative view, Zimbabwe is poor because it took property from economically active individuals and gave it to people who knew nothing about how to extract the value of the land.

It wasn't Western sanctions that made Zimbabwe print money like there's no tomorrow. No one forced Zimbabwe to disrespect property rights.

Zimbabwe, like the rest of Africa, is poor because it's leaders are economically illiterate and have never built anything of value in their lives. They don't know how to build, only how to steal what has been built.

Africa will not prosper until Africa stops voting in the least qualified people to do the most important jobs. Africa is poor because it continues to be enslaved by communism. A theory that has only ever brought destruction and misery to the people it governs.

La vraie réponse est plus dérangeante que la question.

Le logiciel qui a vidé l'Europe de l'intérieur ne s'est pas arrêté à l'Atlantique. Il a traversé. Il a fait l'inverse.

Il a pris le seul outil qui pouvait devenir l'arme parfaite de la surveillance — et il l'a rendu libre. Il a pris la fortune qui pouvait acheter le silence — et il a acheté le droit de dire la vérité. Il a pris le pouvoir qui pouvait fermer les bouches — et il les a rouvertes.

Ce n'est pas un homme qui profite. C'est un homme qui se bat. Seul, à un niveau d'intensité que personne d'autre à ce sommet n'ose assumer, avec tout à perdre et rien à gagner qu'il n'ait déjà.

Voilà la différence entre un homme libre et un tyran : ce n'est pas le pouvoir qu'ils possèdent. C'est ce qu'ils choisissent d'en faire.

- Overtime worked vs.overtime payments
-Sick leave taken vs.actual sick time
- Sleep out allowances paid vs.actual need/work performance

Let me make this blatantly clear. It is far easier to influence and control a population when, pornography erodes moral standards, transgenderism creates confusion about personal identity, mass illegal migration weakens patriotism and national cohesion, and media narratives discourage people from defending their families or their nation, by portraying opposition to these developments as racist, xenophobic, or bigoted.

So we tested it. Britain wrote everything down, so we opened the books. 📖

Turns out fewer than 1 man in 10 could vote in the year Britain banned the slave trade. No woman could. Your ancestors could hang for stealing a sheep, get shipped across the world for petty theft, or go down a mine at 8 years old. In Manchester, the average age of death in a labouring family was 17.

They weren't running the slave trade. They were underneath it too.

Which is what makes what happened next worth knowing.

In 1772 an enslaved man named James Somerset walked free from an English court, because English law couldn't hold a slave.

In 1791, 300,000 families just stopped buying slave sugar. No march, no riot, just a decision made at 300,000 kitchen tables.

In 1792, 519 petitions carrying 390,000 names hit Parliament, most signed by people who couldn't vote themselves.

In 1807, Britain banned the trade.

Then the slave owners sent Britain a bill for the 800,000 people they still held. 💷 £20 million. About 40% of the entire government budget at the time.

The Treasury says it wasn't paid off until 2015. So if your family paid British tax before then, they helped buy 800,000 people their freedom.

From 1808 the Royal Navy spent 60 years hunting slave ships at sea: 1,600 stopped, 150,000 people freed, and 1,600 British sailors dead, mostly of disease, buried thousands of miles from home. ⚓

In 1816 they ended two centuries of Barbary corsairs enslaving Europeans.

In 1896 a war that lasted 38 minutes ended slavery in Zanzibar. 🇹🇿

Almost every country on Earth outlaws slavery today.

That fight was paid for largely at British expense, by British hands.🇬🇧

So why haven't you heard any of this?

Because within living memory, someone rewrote the story. You got taught the crime. Not the cure.

The powerful exploited the world. They exploited their own people first. It was those people who ended slavery. 🇬🇧

While many South African children continue to struggle with basic literacy and numeracy, and many schools face serious challenges, a “Comprehensive Palestine Curriculum” is reportedly being introduced into classrooms, with support from the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) and the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC).

The initiative has also drawn increased public attention following the appointment of Deputy Minister of Higher Education Yusuf Cassim.

According to its developers, the Islamic Curriculum Initiative (ICI) created the curriculum to teach the spiritual and historical significance of Palestine as the "Holy Land." It presents the conflict through themes including “justice, oppression, occupation, colonialism, dispossession, and resistance.”

Additional teaching resources reportedly include "Palestine Poetry & Arts" for Grades 4–12, featuring Gaza-themed poetry exploring the experiences of children, loss, resistance, and concepts of “divine justice”.
