If you weren’t gonna go all out and buy at the deadline, at least you could have made some moves that prepared your for 2027 or 2028. But instead, you took the typical half measures. You bought, but you only kind of bought. You went into the season, knowing you were a bullpen arm short. But that didn’t seem to adjust your sense of urgency at the deadline. I can’t wait this pathetic franchise keep doing fan fare and ceremonies but not seem to give a dam about the product on the field.
Donovan was not a good third baseman to start the year. Hes best as a utility guy that moves around. And the bullpen (most glaring need) is not just underperformance. It’s asking guys like Rucker and Wilcox to pitch leverage innings. Not something that a team who wants to contend should do
