@wil_da_beast630 Still way too generous.
“You’ve crossed into my territory uninvited? Well, now you won’t ever be doing that again in my territory… or anyone else’s.”
@cremieuxrecueil@JackPosobiec The Left knows to valorize their martyrs. And the Right mostly goes along with it.
The Right doesn’t bother to valorize its martyrs, while the Left demonizes them.
See Charlie Kirk. The Right should be giving King this same treatment.
@ghinderliter@RichardHanania Most of the other claims follow the first, obviously. You are going to act like you don’t know what the Democrats stand for?
Tons of data on welfare usage by Haitians too.
Recent immigrant groups and their descendants are well to the left of old stock Americans. No open-borders libertarian can plausibly believe open-borders policies (with birthright citizenship) will lead to an electorate wanting a smaller welfare state?
The libertarian reply is that diversity kills solidarity, so more immigration means people voting a smaller welfare state. They also say immigrants will assimilate. But if this is the case why or social ties weakening so much that people vote against social welfare programs?
This isn’t an argument I made up. Somin and Caplan made it.
(I probably want to feel solidarity with my countrymen, but that’s an aside.)
The lack of solidarity has a ceiling, as not all whites will feel a lack of it with someone like Ilhan Omar. And once whites become a minority, their supposed resentment will not set policy. Blacks voted 90% D 50 years ago, and they still do today.
The foreign-born share went from 4.7% in 1970 to over 15%, and social spending as a share of GDP rose. It’s rising in most of Europe, too. Most cuts only affect a narrow set of migrants.
And the small cuts (see SNAP in the US, or welfare in Sweden) are usually put in place by immigration-restrictionist right wing parties, who are decidedly not open-borders.
In other words, more immigrants don’t lead to a push for fewer government programs. They lead to a push for fewer migrants.
@GBNT1952@ArynneWexler Totally insane take, completely divorced from reality.
Wide open borders vs. largest mass-deportation is American history.
“They’re just Democrat Lite… maaaan!”
🚨NEW: Census Bureau Survey Shows Foreign-Born Population Down 2.9 Million Over Last 18 Months:
"The total foreign-born population declined 2.9 million from January 2025 to July 2026... The huge recent decline in the foreign-born population indicates that net migration to the United States was negative in the last year and a half for the first time since the 1930s."
If the Trump Administration’s immigration crackdown continues at its current pace, the United States will see a reduction of approximately 15.3 million in its foreign-born population by the end of President Trump’s second term in January 2029 -- the lowest national foreign-born population since 2010.

@wil_da_beast630 Not saying Americans should care, but every time Trump posts something like this, approval for Canada's Liberal party increases by another 10%.
Trump's second term has been so horrible for conservative Canadians. We'd almost certainly have a Conservative majority government now.
@Hitchslap1@RichardHanania Even then, it doesn't work long-term, as human being are tribal by nature.
Mass migration will always cause conflict, disharmony, and destroy social trust.
