@JaredDHardin Having gone up a lot for 16 years is evidence of its worth, not an argument for it.
The argument for it is that it’s a portable, debasement-resistant, confiscation-resistant money. The preeminent decentralized ledger amid an ocean of centralized ones.
The noise of this cycle is going to be stablecoin fervor, real world asset tokenization and a resurgence of "blockchaining all of the things" (especially AI).
The signal will be bitcoin maturing as a preferred collateral asset in private credit markets, the continued maturation of the lightning network and other second layers that facilitate payments, bitcoin mining becoming even more integrated with our energy systems and passive DCAs from companies both private and public that convert a portion of their cash flows to bitcoin.
There will be a ton of pundits and TradFi suits speaking with the utmost confidence about things they really don't understand from first principles and they will bamboozle many.
Keep it simple, stupid.
Fiat money is broken. Bitcoin fixes it. Stablecoins are tied to fiat currencies that are being continuously debased. Blockchains only make sense for distributed peer-to-peer cash.
An altcoin founder funded Greenpeace to make a lot of anti-proof-of-work content, including this skull sculpture representing bitcoin mining’s supposed enviro damage.
Bitcoiners instead generally thought the skull was awesome, and now it’s displayed at the Bitcoin Conference. 😊
Bitcoin isn’t just tech. It’s a rebellion.
At the #BitPlebs Summit, 4 Bitcoiner factions assembled.
Builders, educators, cypherpunks, and sovereigns—each fighting for a different piece of freedom.
Here’s the story of what went down in #Goa 📜

Your analysis assumes the conclusion that the fall of empire would be economically devastating. This doommongering is of course popular in institutions surviving off of imperial spending, but it's unconvincing. Most practically, immediately, and undeniably, the death of empire means an enormous reduction in defense spending, which means an enormous relief for American taxpayers on top of a likely increase in safety from attack and international goodwill. Empire isn't just wasting trillions of Americans' wealth, it's also recruiting enemies for them daily.
Beyond that, the death of the dollar printer would force everyone in the US to get a productive job or starve, and that will enormously boost production and standard of living. It's going to hurt a lot of fiat bullshit companies and industries, and that's a good thing. The Keynesians see empire, destruction, parasitism, waste, and war itself as good, because they get their aggregate metrics up. But these metrics are nonsencial. In reality, less waste, parasitism, and mass murder is a good thing and it really is that simple.
The social unrest and disintegration you mention are happening under the fiat empire precisely because it is so destructive to the US and its people.
No reindustrialization without dedollarization.
But dedollarization means imperial collapse.
On the other hand, so does deindustrialization!
This is the fundamental paradox.
Is Erica still keeping track of all the extra money @saylor would have made by buying ETH-shitcoins instead of sats. It's sad I can't seem to fine the updated calculation.
@Leishman the funny thing is these retards probably genuinely don’t understand what you’re talking about, they probably never used multisig in bitcoin in their entire lives and have no idea what makes it categorically more secure than multisig in ethereum
I think disagreement is the engine of change. Good ideas win or lose on their merits.
It might be short-form memes or long-form articles and books. But you need to be able to win your arguments that way.
Force is the *last* resort, usually in defense from irrationality.
But.🧵
Bitcoin Maxis are the single reason I did not lose my stack, and the single reason I abandoned the illusion of stonks and mUtUaL fUnDs for something real.
Bitcoin Maxis are not “hey I love Bitcoin and you should to.” They are the ones who saw the rot in the system before anyone else, diagnosed the disease, and found the only cure.
They didn’t ask permission, they didn’t hedge their bets. They went all in, they won, and in doing so proved that everything the world told you about money was a constructed lie…
and you’re mad because they call out your bullshit mercilessly.
I have a large family. Thirty first cousins, both sides combined. That means lots of aunts and uncles.
And they're starting to go. 🥺
I watched an uncle draw his final breath. Saw another slowly die to cancer, and watched one fade away from dementia. I lost another uncle last week.
It's a strange experience seeing your elders die off. 😞
The people you grew up with as a kid. The ones who were always around at family gatherings.
You're not going to be close with everyone when your family is large, but it is still a major loss when someone dies.
And slowly, as you get older, you realize that your generation is turning into the elders.
I find comfort in that. Just as I find comfort in knowing that one day, hopefully in the far future, I will draw my last breath. These realizations make living all the more meaningful.
Remember the ones you've lost.🧡
But don't forget the ones you still have.
There's time. Use it wisely.
