@nicbarkeragain Pretty sure the ZSA Voyager with the navigator accessory kinda does this. One side has a touch sensitive track ball which enables a layer on the opposite half of the keyboard which has the mouse buttons mapped

The more important issue, imo, is that at 200ms (or even Microsoft’s reported ~94ms) the system is likely to drop my inputs before the program is open. I should be able to type win-r-c-m-d-enter in one go without slowing down.

My typing speed is about 130+ wpm, which is on average a new character every 90ms. Simple software on modern machines should have no trouble keeping up, especially when that software is built into the OS shell.
