It's great news that student visas are now available in the capital city of Somalia. We encourage our youth to prepare themselves to challenge the status quo and compete for international scholarships.

The headline and the article portray a considerable distortion of reality.

Destabilizing #Somalia and allowing Ethiopia to encroach upon Somali waters (as advocated by those proposing the separation of the region from Somalia and enabling Ethiopia to annex Somali sea and land under the purported new entity, Somaliland) would not only disrupt Somalia but also carry far-reaching consequences for the entire Horn of Africa region along the Red Sea.

Those well-versed in this matter and committed to peace in the Horn, like the United States of America, have explained that actions compromising Somalia’s sovereignty ultimately aid Al Shabaab.
