Hello, world! For the longest time, I've been pouring my evenings and weekends into a passion project. Today, I’m so excited to finally share my journey.
I'm the creator behind "Pupsalot: Dream Tales & Wisdom" - a magical story app for kids.

Just wrapped up a massive refactor in Flutter! 🛠️
✅ Atomic Writes to prevent data corruption. ✅ Smart Metadata Handling to distinguish System-Managed vs. User-Saved files. ✅ Traps that auto-detect and allow clean deletion of bad downloads.
#kidsapp#kids#dev#appdev#48h
Finally migrated the Parental Control PIN logic entirely to the cloud.
✅ Server-side hashing
✅ Atomic transactions
✅ Re-auth flow
The "Shared Device" vulnerability is officially patched. Feels good to ship secure code. 🔒🚀

Today was a massive leap forward for the app's stability and safety architecture! Here is everything I accomplished over the last 3 days:
✅ Implemented and Fixed the Starter Kit: Debugged a tricky "no-download" issue for the German starter pack. Turns out it was a database flag (isLocal) missing in Firestore, not a code bug!
✅ Smart Offline Logic: Re-engineered the StoryResolverService. Now, when offline, the app intelligently prioritizes "Freemium" stories first for guests, while Subscribers get their full library instantly sorted by title.
✅ Pro-Level Reporting System: Built a "State of the Art" moderation loop. Users can now instantly "Hide" content for immediate relief or "Report" it to me.
- Added a "Legal Hold" archive for important reports.
- Implemented a robust TTL (Time-To-Live) policy to auto-delete junk reports after 180 days (keeping the DB clean & free!).
✅ Storage Hygiene: Implemented a "Flush and Fill" logic in InitialSyncService. The app now wipes old "preview" audio files before downloading the new high-quality full versions, ensuring user storage never gets clogged with trash files.
✅ GDPR & Compliance: Updated the Privacy Policy and EULA to be transparent about data retention and email support. Added a dedicated "Contact Support" button for refunds/partnerships to keep store reviews clean.
✅ Permissions Fixed: Swapped raw permission requests for a custom PermissionService that correctly handles the tricky Android 13+ media permissions.
The app is now safer, faster, and respects user storage.🏗️🔥

🚀 Dev Update: Pushing for Store Compliance!
Today was a massive sprint for my App. I tackled the "boring but critical" stuff to get approved by Apple & Google:
✅ GDPR & Legal: Added Impressum, Privacy Policy & EULA flows. ✅ Safety: Implemented Account Deletion with Parental PIN protection. ✅ Stability: Fixed image memory trashing (no more flicker!). ✅ Commerce: Integrated Restore Purchases & real Subscription handling.
The "Last Mile" is always the hardest, but I am almost ready for launch!

Major bug crushing session today.
Fixed the logic for offline favorites, smoothed out the transition animations, and bulletproofed the image caching system. The app feels so much snappier now.

I've spent the last few days building a smarter rating system to protect against spam and ensure you can trust the story feedback you see. Ratings also now update instantly on the home screen, and I've fixed that tricky navigation bug. Thanks for your continued support.

Just shipped a neat filtering system in my app thats activated by long-pressing the search button. It's all about making discovery smooth and intuitive.
ps. The Search bar and the Filters do not work properly yet.
What do you think?👇

Got animations in for Ghost Kid's jump, double-jump, hurt, and die states. I don't think i'll have time to implement an actual melee attack, so it'll just have to be stompin for now.
Next priority is replacing that cube enemy
Guests and unsubscribed users typically browse a number of local installed stories, so using the Search feature offers no immediate value.
Now, tapping the Search icon clearly guides them to the fun with a sleek "Unlock Full Access" dialog. No more guessing—just a clear, beautiful prompt to subscribe and dive into the entire library!

Finally, I've met someone who's developing a real children's game. Please keep it up! I really miss these kinds of games these days! As soon as I finish my app, developing a children's game will be my next project! 🍀🥰
Totally get it. Here is what I do to stay locked in:
1. Focus Session Power-Ups
• The Pomodoro Technique: Work for 25 mins, break for 5. The short timer prevents burnout and keeps you sprinting.
• Single-Tasking: Stop the context-switching! Work on one thing (e.g., "Implement the Jump") until the timer goes off. Multitasking kills productivity.
• Eat the Frog: Start your day with the hardest task you're dreading. Once that's done, the rest of the day is easy.
2. Environment & Energy
• Kill Distractions: Put your phone on silent and leave it in another room during focus time. Even seeing it nearby drains concentration.
• Move Your Body: Take those 5-minute breaks to stand, stretch, or walk. Physical breaks are crucial for mental clarity and memory consolidation.
• Master Your Tools: Learn the keyboard shortcuts for your IDE/Engine (Unity, VS Code, etc.).
If I had to pick just one tip, it's ditching the phone. If it's nearby, I'll grab that dopamine drug every two minutes to check X, YouTube, or Twitch—even when I know nothing's new. I've wasted a painful 30 minutes staring at it before realizing I lost my flow. Painful 💀. Out of sight, out of mind
Hey gamedev friends! I sometimes have trouble keeping my mind at the things that matter (my project).
What are your best tips for staying locked in and actually getting things done?
@_anoneng @ColinJSharpe@IterIntellectus Nope, you wouldn’t have launched 4 companies because you would find yourself on X complaining about how it’s everyone else’s fault that you are how you are.
anyway, I wish you a great day.
@grok@placingsigns So he was walking in game for 14years non stop? Or periodically? What is the equivalent for walking this distance in real life? How long would it take?
