Making progress on my follow-up article to this one in @MidlandHistory - when a supposedly charitable bank failed, how did the community respond? #Birmingham#Philanthropy

@AlghraniT Yes, I was able to go down and take a look. Gloomy, with bars on the door, if I remember correctly. The person who showed it to me said Mary Carpenter NEVER put a girl there. Uh huh.
@mychal3ts@SolanoLibrary I follow you mainly on IG. Most wholesome account ever. This is how the internet should be, filled with joy. You are an upstanding human being. Good luck!
@Flyingarchivist@CAPittard@61harpy I used to work at the Historical Manuscripts Commission. One of the things we did was create box lists for private owners/ small repositories. We could get through a room full of paper in a day! Which provided a starting point. Cataloging properly is a slow expensive task.
@CAPittard Many record repositories have uncatalogued archive collections. They might have a high level box list, but not at item level. So things can still be discovered. They can also be re-identified if a researcher can provide more information.
@petfoodexpress Purchased this morning, lasted five minutes before its arm became a mass of dangerous thread. For a toy costing $23 and rated durability 9, this is rubbish. Why stock stuff like this?
