A podcast for those cultivating an ethos towards mutual flourishing, healing, learning, and living well throughout the human experience. Host: @kimpbarton
YES. Living, learning, and being well are all relational pursuits. Centring relationships also expands us beyond human-centred pedagogy, and invites all our relations into our decision making. #pedagogy#earlylearning
Education is not teacher centered or even student centered, but it is relationship centered. Teachers thrive with positive admin relationships & students thrive with positive teacher relationships. Relationships are the foundation of education.
My next episode, called What Moves Us will releas tomorrow. Simultaneously, I’m releasing another mini episode clarifying my vision, values and mission within this podcast. Welcome to the journey! #pedagogicalleadership
Welcome to … pursuing questions: Imprints of inquiry. Possibilities for play. And provocations for living. I was moved into what I am calling “the essential shift” towards the quest within the questions. #ecepodcast
Although I intend to continue to amplify the wisdom of #earlychildhoodeducators, I also aim to broadening my reflections to anyone working towards an ethos of mutual #flourishing, healing, learning, and living well throughout the human experience.
When you teach something, you're not just passing on knowledge or skills, you're sending the message that learning this particular thing is important. It's relational. 😊 #EYFS

Hello twitterverse! I am a novice #podcaster (who isn’t?) & I am interested in #pedagogy, #earlylearning, adult #wellbeing, & the culture of #music in #childhood. Got any inspiring podcast/article/book I should check out as inspiration? I’m already in love with @onbeing
After a long pause (discussed in my latest episode The Potential of a Pause https://t.co/SZ3zZLrn2k), I have done some visioning for this #podcast. With a new logo, vision, and values set, I am eager to share my reflections in ways that feel more aligned and generative for me.
Musicking in early life teaches us to listen to one another on such a deep level. If this could become a priority, we would see less attention deficiency and self regulation difficulties. Along with the phonics question, this is simply a no brainer, and yet….
I wonder if pausing is the lingering between ‘noticing’ and ‘responding’ to encounters with children? I recently asked educators how they’d respond to noticing children’s joy and someone said “I think I would just enjoy the joy”: made me rethink the urgency of action in pedagogy.

@koenigmusichild It would be an honour to speak with you! I am giving this episode a listen and then I will send you a direct message to set up some next steps. Thanks so much for initiating a conversation 😊
Hello & welcome to the playful podcast! I’m @kimpbarton and I’m the host/editor/producer who is dreaming big and wondering out loud about the play & #musicwithyoungchildren in Ontario, Canada. Stay tuned for my quest over the next year in following this interest! #ece
This quote has offered me:
a) a noticing of music everywhere
b) a reminder of the importance of improvising as part of an #earlychildhood professional practice and
c) permission to value the care work integral to our field.
“Invisible caring arts may include voice, tone, presence, and attention. In daily rituals… we transform mundane tasks into artful practices. Humans are surprising and unpredictable, and care is an art as it is interpretive and improvisational” @Carol_Garboden#ece#ethicsofcare
As a pre-service ECE advocacy kept me committed to our field. Now as a RECE pondering music with young children, I believe it’ll be advocacy that retains me, because, as @SueYoung351 describes, it’s a double whammy of marginalized public interest. https://t.co/dYG3v1QwNl
