for the record, this is like saying "after 20+ years, we learned that lead is not as good as copper for making wires, and we are now pivoting". literally read one book about orbital mechanics and you'll find this out. reading's hard i guess
For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.
The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.
It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.
That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.
@TylerGlaiel@dgant You can't unfocus your eyes at will? Huh. Anyway, yes, you perceive both, but the focus point can kinda go back and forth. Generally it's hard to "see" out of whichever eye isn't directly looking at a moving object, if only one is, but if it's static you see both or "swap"
@PUNKISTCHUY@DarkWorldz95 people also think toby fox put mpreg shitpost music into pokemon for nearly the exact same reasons ("it sounds very vaguely similar and I don't listen closely to things so I believe it when people say they're the same") so i'd say it is not, in fact, always silly and harmless
@gooolixx@loadingerror__@shadowkristal i got it and he's older than me so i'm going to say, in fact, he did think of that and that is the intent in this case
did you know that people used to hate MVC2's soundtrack. it was genuinely Derided

they heard this and went "ew that's bad". terrible times to live through
@Tbslol@TylerGlaiel no, "the same characteristics as a liquid" isn't even correct here, that's implying that all non-crystalline substances have liquid properties, which definitely isn't right
@Cyrain@LiquidHbox I'm an icies main and i'm glad it's banned because i hate feeling like i'm sandbagging if i'm not using it. It's a degenerate strategy, in the game theory sense: it dominates so hard that setting it up becomes the optimal way to play, which isn't nearly as fun as just playing
There's some sort of crypto thing called "KZL" that some people are shilling as associated with me somehow. I do not know what this is, and have nothing to do with it.
@MVG_Mew2King like there's this toxic undercurrent of "if you fail at something it makes you Lesser" that leads to statements like "anyone can do literally anything if they put the work in". which, like. no? you don't need to think that. just. don't think it??
@MVG_Mew2King like no, you will *never* succeed without the work. but sometimes you can't succeed even with the work. i have experienced this; I struggled with handwriting for years, it's still completely illegible, turns out I have "dysgraphia" and other people know where their hand is going
