@2D0XPS@_F_B_G_@MadsDavies I've always enjoyed by Diocesan Bishop's in their teaching role. But i have often wondered why they duck the opportunity to inhabit that space on Maundy Thursday, Diocesan Conferences and regularly through other media (see bp of Ramsbury as standout example)
@MadsDavies@2D0XPS A sort of Paul/Cephas/Apollos for the 21st Century. Or a version of Top Trumps. The Word was made flesh, which dares us to discover the virtue of empathy and see the world through the eyes of others. A bit like, er, God. Try it, sisters and brothers. Be kind. And humble.
@cath_cov@dvdpeters That may be true. Two things. TEC are not responsible for what others hear. Secondly, flip the narrative. What do others hear about the Church of England? Often, it's only one (shouty) voice. Nuance, diversity and difference don't really work on social media, more's the pity
@MadsDavies What i find beyond difficult is that bishops and archdeacon seek funding for nonAnglican congregations. Where are the Canons in all this nonsense? If we can ride rough shod over our vows here, what else can we happily ignore?
@MadsDavies It panders to our 'right to know.' We don't have that right. The victims do. And we (or GS of which I'm not a member) have the right to check the process is robust. No more, no less. Otherwise justice will collapse into tabloid sloganism.
Dear @LunchboxEnvyPod in the episode on wine, your speakers made interesting points. The one about what denominations believe was nonsense. You called bishops 'so called.' Would you speak about 'so called imams? I love the content. But don't make things up. Destroys trust.
Frank Cottrell-Boyce @frankcottrell_b in the Guardian @guardian about Alice Roberts' 'Domination'. I think I'll look at Tom Holland's @holland_tom 'Dominion' again instead.
@BreeSolstad I'm intrigued. Not an RC. Practicing Christian priest in the Anglican Church. I recognise that not all RCs are happy with non-ordained handling the sacraments but are there rules around this? And, if age (assuming confirmation) is an issue, what age?
@FrDidymus Visited Sistine Chapel after 9/11. Few tourists. So space to breathe, think and marvel. Apparently lying on the floor to see the ceiling is not encouraged. Or that's what I think the security guy was saying.
