While India welcomed independence on August 15, 1947, the people of the Hyderabad State endured dark, terrifying days under the brutal rule of the Nizam. Severe civil repression, atrocities against women, and treating the hoisting of our Tricolour flag as a crime symbolized those dark times. Nevertheless, the indomitable spirit of our people triumphed. Leaving behind a legacy of endless sacrifices from historic soils like #Bairanpally in Husnabad mandal, countless patriots laid down their lives in this fierce liberation struggle.

True liberation finally dawned on September 17, 1948, driven by the iron will and decisive leadership of India's first Home Minister, the Iron Man of India, Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ji, which ultimately forced the Nizam to surrender.

During the Telangana separate statehood movement, a solemn collective commitment was made. September 17 would be officially designated and celebrated as "Telangana Vimochana Dinothsavam" to honor our martyrs and pass their inspiring history on to future generations. Regrettably, past regimes sidelined this glorious chapter due to vote-bank politics. We stand resolute in our promise to officially celebrate this historic day with the true pride and grandeur it deserves under a future BJP government, with the divine blessings of the people of Telangana.

Witnessing today's magnificent armed forces march-pasts, vibrant cultural performances, and the stunning Makutam tableaux showcasing the rich heritage of our Telangana was a deeply moving experience.

Let us bow our heads in reverence to our valiant freedom fighters and pledge to safeguard the democratic values they bled for.
