Today’s victory reminds me of the Thirukural:

which translates to:
“O my foes, stand not before my leader;
for many who did, have turned to stone today.”

Our leader Hon. CM @mkstalin has turned to stone all those who sought to undermine the democratically elected Government and has reaffirmed that the will of the people of Tamil Nadu is supreme!

Today, I participated as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes to the winners at “the Grand Valedictory Function of Mega Sports Event 2026”, organised by Vidyal Youth, Sacred Heart Church, Valan Nagar, Chennai. Rev. Fr. L. Lawrence, Director of the Commission of Youth, and Rev. Dr Xavier Dass, Parish Priest, for gracing the occasion.

Addressing the young participants on the theme “Empowering Youth for a Drug-Free Society,” I encouraged them:

“Say No to Drugs. Choose the path of dreams and happiness through sports, studies and service. Be responsible citizens and make a positive contribution to your community and the nation.”

Addressing the annual Mupperum Vizha event at Kalaignar Arangam at the DMK headquarters, Hon'ble Party President Thalaivar @mkstalin said that “Tamil Nadu has turned into a hunting ground for criminals. Under the current incompetent TVK Government, the only competition is between two things: power cuts and sickle cuts (murders and murder attacks). “Every day, there are murders to the extent that it is difficult to keep count, and Tamil Nadu has become a 'hunting ground for criminals."

Sad to hear that Payal Mehta (@payalmehta100), Senior Journalist, New Delhi (@CNNnews18), is no more. She collapsed during a visit to Mumbai, and around 2 am she was taken to the hospital. Before any treatment could be administered, she passed away.
She was a soft-spoken senior journalist who interacted with MPs across party lines and kept us informed with updated political and administrative developments in Delhi. Recently, I attended her father’s memorial prayer meeting held at the Constitution Club. It’s a great loss to the fourth estate. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. May the departed soul rest in peace.

I attended the first sitting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, where representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs briefed the Committee.

Along with our DMK Party Deputy General Secretary, Hon’ble Thiru A. Raja, MP @dmk_raja, as per the instructions of our Hon Thalaivar @mkstalin, we have sent a letter to the Hon’ble Chairman of the Committee, Thiru Sanjay Jaiswal, MP, seeking transparency in the Committee’s proceedings, pre-circulation of witness lists and papers, and calling for inclusive, nationwide, wider stakeholder participation, including representation from States with substantial minority religious communities.

இந்தச் செய்திகள் உண்மையெனில், இத்தகைய ஆணவப் போக்கிற்கு அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டத்தால் இயங்கும் ஜனநாயகத்தில் எந்த இடமும் இல்லை.

தலைமை நீதிபதி என்பவர் நாட்டின் மூன்று முக்கிய அங்கங்களில் ஒன்றான நீதித்துறைக்குத் தலைமை வகிப்பவர் ஆவார்.

நெறிமுறை அடிப்படையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டால், ஆளுநர், முதலமைச்சர் மற்றும் சபாநாயகர் ஆகியோருக்���ுப் பிறகு தலைமை நீதிபதி இடம்பெறுகிறார்.

மற்ற அமைச்சர்கள் மற்றும் ஆளும் கூட்டணியைச் சேர்ந்த நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் மற்றும் சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் உள்ளிட்டோருக்கு முன்வரிசையில் இருக்கைகள் வழங்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், நீதித்துறையின் தலைமைப் பொறுப்பில் இருப்பவர் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டது துரதிர்ஷ்டவசமானது.

எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக, அருள்மிகு மீனாட்சி அம்மன் குடமுழுக்கு விழாவைக் கா��ும் வாய்ப்பு மறுக்கப்பட்டதன் மூலம் பக்தர்களும் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். மேலும், அவர்கள் புனித நீரான தீர்த்தத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவும் அனுமதிக்கப்படவில்லை.

இந்த விவகாரம் தொடர்பாக மாண்புமிகு முதலமைச்சர் அவர்கள் தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் மன்னிப்பு கோர வேண்டும். மேலும், இதுபோன்ற சம்பவங்கள் எதிர்காலத்தில் மீண்டும் நடைபெறாமல் இருப்பதை உறுதி செய்ய வேண்டும்.

The media reports Hon. Minister Jagadeeshwari’s remarks concerning the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Madras High Court and the insult inflicted upon him at the Madurai Meenakshi Amman kudamuzhugu function.

If these reports are accurate, such arrogance has no place in a constitutional democracy. The Chief Justice heads the judiciary—one of the branches of government. According to protocol, he is kept after the Governor, the Chief Minister, and the Speaker. When other Ministers and members of the ruling alliance, such as MPs and MLAs, have been given front-row seats, why was the head of the judiciary insulted?
Above all, the devotees were insulted by being denied a glimpse of the Kumbaabisegam festival of Goddess Meenakshi, and they were not allowed to receive blessed holy water (theertham).
The Chief Minister @CMOTamilnadu should issue a personal apology on this matter and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

Today, the Finance Ministry announced charges on RuPay debit cards and UPI transactions above Rs. 2,000, the very methods that ordinary people like street vendors, flower vendors, tea shops, auto-rickshaws, taxis, grocery stores, and others use daily.

On 10 August 2026, during the debate on the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, I raised this concern in the Rajya Sabha. The Hon. FM @nsitharaman assured the House that small vendors would not face any charges. Yet, within just 35 days, that promise has been broken.

What I warned in Parliament has come true. The notification allows banks, etc., to impose an additional fee on UPI users for every transaction above the prescribed ceiling of Rs 2000. The Hon’ble Finance Minister’s assurances have been flouted with impunity, and she must intervene and withdraw the notification!
